How do you wear your timing chip?

Does anyone know if the Dtag

Does anyone know if the Dtag will work when it is up on the ankle? Or do I have to rig something on my foot for this?

Hi jknap.  Welcome!  I've

Hi jknap. Welcome! I've always attached my D-tags to a dog collar around my ankle and have never had a problem with it registering me at the start, check points, or the finish of a race.

Has always worked for me

Has always worked for me velcroed to my ankle.

Just picked up a bib & Dtag at the expo today matter of fact.

We forgot our ankle straps

We forgot our ankle straps for the Warror Dash last weekend, but we had some duct tape that we brought for a little extra foot protection (I stepped on a staple last week and my heel was a bit tender). Janine had a brilliant idea to make straps with the tape - folded longways so it wasn't sticky. It worked great!

Ah you should have duct taped it to your leg to show that us barefooters are studs.

Just a quick photo to show a couple of different ways to attach timing chips. As per Abide's advice, a small piece of Gorilla Duct Tape worked fine. Barefoot Metalman has the much more professional looking ankle strap. :)

I am running a 5k tomorrow,

I am running a 5k tomorrow, and was planning on starting the race barefoot. I am only up to about 20 minutes barefoot, (although I know I could do more, but don't want to do TMTS...again! :)), therefore; I am going to carry my Merrells with me. Should I put my timing chip on my ankle? Or should I just attach it to my shoes since I will most likely be putting on the shoes after around 20 minutes or so?

Since you don't have much

Since you don't have much time, get a dog collar with a plastic buckle. You can get them at Walmart, Target, or a pet store.

Otherwise, the Road Id fits around the ankle, and we sell them through our site in an ad that appears on the right side bar.
