I run along the bike path that follows our river. Enjoy

I usually run on my lunch

I usually run on my lunch breaks. The nice thing about it, is I am my own boss, so I always get permission! I try to get in at least 6 miles each run, and often get in runs of 10 to 12 miles, depending on my calendar load for the day. I try to get out at least three times a week.

On another note. I got an email from a reporter for the local newspaper who wanted to interview me for an article she is writing about the barefoot running craze. She had seen me running a few times in the past and that gave her the idea for the article. I met with her yesterday and she asked me a lot of questions. Then she asked if I would come around for a photoshoot the next day (today, Thursday). So I will be in my running clothes for some picture taking. I was considering wearing my home make t-shirt that says "It Takes BALLS to Run BAREFOOT!" but opted instead for the other shirt I made that lists "10 Reasons to Run Barefoot"

I saw some people doing that

I saw some people doing that the other day. I'll probably start doing that when the weather cools off again. From now until October the pavement is a little too hot to run on around here. There's not any good trails that are long enough near here. I do have a gym at work so I'm definitely going to start using that at lunch I think.

My students and principal

My students and principal would be so confused. "Mr. Robertson, where are you going? Come back! No? Then can we come with you?"

If I get enough time, I will

If I get enough time, I will run at lunch time, especially during the winter when the days are too short to run in the evening when I get home.

There is a nice path by a river near to where I work. It is a public right of way but passes through a golf course. I love to see the looks on the faces of the golfers as I pass. 'Not only is there a man running on our golf course, but he has no shoes on either!'

I run at lunch in the

I run at lunch in the wintertime, but it's already in the upper 90s by 2:00 here, so running at lunch isn't an option (pavement's too hot). Or rather, running BF at lunch is too hot; I do on rare occasion run in VFFs but it's not as fun so I wait until it cools off.

I try to get out at least 3

I try to get out at least 3 times a week during lunch for 6 miles or so. It's lots of fun where I am, I work in an developing industrial area, with lots of construction going on. I am constantly running by heavy equipment with my barefeet. Get some really interesting looks. Little do they know, that a lot of the sites these guys work on, are one's that I had a help in designing.

By lunchtime in Florida,

By lunchtime in Florida, we're frying eggs out there. Maybe once my soles get a bit more seasoned and can handle some heat.

Down in Sarasota. I grew up in Miami, then spent 13 years in Gainesville in a prior life and as such, have a special place in my heart for you Tallahassee people.

If you're ever down this way, please look me up. I'm always glad to go running together!

Gkikas,

I'm not really a "Tallahassee person" - I am a second-generation UF grad and I just live amongst the savages here, trying hard to educate them about the finer things in life (both football and BFR!) LOL.

My hubby is from Miami and lived in Sarasota for awhile, funny coincidence. I'll definitely look you up if we get down that way! Please do the same - and if you go to home football games in G'ville, I'm there at least for the day so maybe we can get a run in sometime if it works out.

well now that I am my own

well now that I am my own boss (trying to get a private practice off the ground and gave up the steady job, though looking for one a few days a week), I can see lunchtime running as I am more productive writing wise in the mornings... and I can research, create content and write in the mornings, then run, and see most patients later in the day (many prefer to meet after business hours). When I was working, I was lucky to get a break long enough to eat, forget to have running time.
