As most of you know, Japan experienced (and is experiencing) some serious earthquakes. The first measured 8.9 on the richter scale, causing a tsunami to hit the west coast of the U.S. The devastation is enormous. Please take a moment to wish our Japan Chapter members and their families well in a thread I've created for them in the Japan Forum. Thanks.

Good for you TJ.  And AMEN.

Good for you TJ. And AMEN. I have no idea how Japan's going to cope with such a blow. They ae a strong nation, and they will be needing all their strength and spirit to come through. I wish them all grace and luck.

Our thoughts and good wishes

Our thoughts and good wishes go to not just our barefoot friends in Japan, but eveyone affected by the disaster.

Thank you for reminding us

Thank you for reminding us that we have Japan chapter members. I will keep all of Japan, in Japan and in the Japanese diaspora, in my thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are

My thoughts and prayers are with our Japanese brothers and sisters as well.

Thank you everyone for your

Thank you everyone for your support. It really is appreciated. I am in Tokyo and the people here are carrying on as usual.

There's a 70 percent chance of a magnitude 7 hitting in the next three days. Glad to know that your thoughts and prayers are part of the algebra.

I can only watch so much of

I can only watch so much of the news on this - it gets to me pretty deeply.

At the front of one video clip was an ad for "1% rebate on my credit card purchases" with some actress in a Prius getting all breathless with excitement. Then the video started and it was people being killed by the onrushing tsunami, farms and livelihoods being washed away in roaring disaster.

The verneer of our safe lives is rubbed very thin in times like these.

I do indeed pray for Japan and for all of us.
