by the way, the people at Gazelle had nothing but nice things to say about working with Merrell as a vendor. they didn't say anything specific, but said they are a wonderful company to work with.
oh, and i had to get the weird mutant yellow ones. for some reason I really liked that color

I had to check Gazelle Sports
I had to check Gazelle Sports website this morning and low and behold they have them listed! I'm on the east side of the state, so I ordered a pair. Had some Christmas money that I've been waiting to spend on a pair of these! Already got a notification that they are ready to ship, so maybe I'll get them on Monday!

Just a little update to add
Just a little update to add to all the other good info on these shoes. Did 8 miles in about 2" of snow today and found that:
1) traction in road slush far superior to my VFF Flows or my Nike lunarglides.
2) traction in fresh snow was excellent, with no slippage at all.
3) really enjoyed running in them. They felt light and made me want to (for lack of a better word) dance downthe road.
