It's almost 4:00 PM and I'm heading out to run in new snow and 29 degrees. I wouldn't have the gumption to get my butt out the door if not for the inspiration I get from reading about you folks here. Thank you!

Yesterday, Monday, I ran a 5

Yesterday, Monday, I ran a 5 mile loop that was snow for all but about 200 yards. Packed tire track snow, fluffy 3 inch deep virgin snow, 1 inch deep slushy stuff (yuck!), and the odd ice patch. It was about 30 degrees and not too windy. A good run in my Bikilas, and my longest in the snow. My toes were cold but not too badly numbed out by the end. I'm just not up to trying the same thing BF. Brrrr!

I think the tracks I leave look very cool anyway.

Running with gratitude.

Thank you. The lazy me

Thank you.

The lazy me wanted to wait for the snow to melt before running again but it looks like this year in NJ there will be snow on the ground until Spring. Reading this group motivated me to go running in the snow, even last Sunday when my husband thought the wind would be too cold. I took off for a short run, starting with a 3 mile loop and I extended it to 10 miles!

I ran through slush, ice, crusty snow. It was beautiful to be outside and not cold. I enjoyed every minute of it (ok, maybe not the first 10 min, it always takes me a while to get the ryhtme). The sky was blue, the wind was strong and was blowing incredible patterns on the snow. It was an amazing run and I'm grateful to this group for giving me the motivation to go out.

I felt I had the energy and motivation to go for 13.1m but at mile 9, as I was approaching our house I started feeling a slight pain on the top of my foot and decided to not push my mileage so I would be able to run again soon during the week.

Scuba boots with wool socks are the good combination for me to run in the snow, the wool stays warm even when wet. I'm too afraid of salt to go barefoot even for the last mile of my run....i'll save that for dry days, if we see any.

Wow!  Good for you!  Didn't

Wow! Good for you! Didn't you just run your first 10K in November? Awesome running!

A little more snow tonight, but that's not going to spoil anything for you, now, is it?

We are covered in 1/2" and 1"

We are covered in 1/2" and 1" ice everywhere! I'm not sure how I will get out to run today. It is SOOOOOOO slippery out there. Even if I run on the neighbors hard, iced lawns, I would slip around everywhere. What to do... What to do...

Yea, that's nice and all, but

Yea, that's nice and all, but his surface is smooth inside an ice rink. Mine is choppy, uneven, and feels like razors, since the ice chunks that fell from the sky froze on top of other ice chunks already on the ground.

I'm actually getting antsy.

I'm actually getting antsy. I haven't run in a few days. The schools are closed for the third day in a row tomorrow. Georgia isn't used to this kind of stuff. Don't get me wrong, we get snow in the north Georgia mountains and stuff, deep sometimes, but here in the metro Atlanta area, we normally get just a few inches down to a dusting, and that's not all winter long, and that's not every year.

KMB, Mike! Ptttttth! Besides, it's easy to get someone to videotape you while you are running for just a few yards inside a nice ice skating rink. Let's see that same performance over the long haul. (Well, not you, him.) ;-)
