New week! What are your feet up to?

My feet have spent alot of time on my surfboard the past few days so haven't been walking/running this week yet.

And more surf on tap this weekend.

It's all good!!! :)

Sunday: 3 miles (felt like 5

Sunday: 3 miles (felt like 5 with all the false trails) with Hash House Harriers and of course beer (10 degrees C/50 degrees F) beautiful day

Monday: 4.1 miles at lunch downtown at 9:28 pace (this is average for me) (11 degrees C/52 degrees F)

Tuesday: 2.9 miles at lunch downtown at 9:39 pace (8 degrees C / 46 degrees F)

Wednesday: no run

Thursday: 6.5 miles at 9.14 pace (1 degree C / 33 degrees F) wet with falling snow. This was a PR for a 10 km distance for me, I have never cracked an hour, and I did the 10 kms in 57min 29 seconds.

All runs barefoot.

Friday planned 5 miles

Saturday planned 10 miles minimum, see how I feel.

Expected total mileage for week 31.5.

6.8 with warmup, 6x400m

6.8 with warmup, 6x400m sprints and run home. Would have been an 8 mile run but my Bikilas pinched too much especially the toe that lost its nail. No Bikilas for speed or for my upcoming race :(. Praying it's 20 degrees so Protons make sense.

11 miles barefoot-including 8

11 miles barefoot-including 8 this morning which has been my longest barefoot run so far (stoked about that)

5.8 miles in my huaraches that i made last weekend

3 miles in my bikilas for unit PT

19.8 total for the week

Ran about 4 miles on Thursday

Ran about 4 miles on Thursday with a running group that was being interviewed by the local Fox evening news. And I ended up being on TV. Links are posted on the main forum here.

Dave so jealous, we're headed

Dave so jealous, we're headed into a winter storm complete with inches of snow. le sigh..

Enjoy those warm surfs this weekend!

J, lol you do keep up with some excellent cross training too. What are you up to primarily with your cross training? The bikilas were pinching your toes? That doesnt' sound good, is this a new thing?

I'll probably just get my 1hr of zumba in today, though am going to rock it since my other classes this week were on sore/fatigued muscles. I've had a good day of rest so am ready to bring my class up to 150% as per usual ;)

Saturday, Belly dance class and MN BRS group run...looks as though we'll be trekking it through the snow and 20mph winds. We are so hard core :steve: LOL Shooting for 12mi

I mainly strength train, especially core stuff for my injury (torn ab muscle AKA sports hernia). Flip tires, weighted ball, planks, etc.

The Bikilas were fine until I started running fast in them. 11+mm and they are fine, anything below that and they pinch like crazy. I don't know if it's a form thing (toeing off) or just a design issue). My times have dropped lately pretty dramatically and that's when the problems started.

6.5 miles, 20 degrees, no

6.5 miles, 20 degrees, no wind and half a foot of snow. If I had conditions like these I wouldn't have any trouble staying moivated through the winter.

30-33F Intended long (9.4mi)

30-33F

Intended long (9.4mi) morning walk, but we saw BF prints where frozen mud beginning to thaw. I had to take shoes off about half-way for my first muddy, icy puddle rocky trail-run! BF 4.5 mi back to car. If ankles are okay, will do it again tomorrow morning.

New to the Mileage Club

New to the Mileage Club postings...

Last Saturday 11/6 ran 8 miles (longest barefoot run to date), Wednesday ran 4 miles.

This Sunday I have my first barefoot Half Marathon!!! So excited! And on mile 2 of that race will be my 100th barefoot mile (VERY small handful of those miles run in VFFs, probably about 15 miles).

Only 4mi this morning.  I've

Only 4mi this morning. I've been crazy busy at work lately. Plus, since we've set the clocks back, it's dark when I leave in the morning and dark when I get home. Definitely could've used my Zems this morning though. It was only about 40deg, but it felt colder. My feet never really started to warm up and I had to stop a lot to brush off the rocks that I thought were stuck to my feet. I'm running a 5k on Thanksgiving morning and I really want to do it barefoot, but we'll see how the temps go. It's supposed to warm up again this week, but I haven't seen the forecast for raceday yet.

26.2 at the San Antonio Rnr

26.2 at the San Antonio Rnr Marathon today. Got an easy PR of 3:42. Looking forward to actually racing a marathon soon to see what I can do.

oh Shacky, you show off you!

oh Shacky, you show off you! Nice job!! When's the next?

Nice work everyone.

MN BRS group run called off due to inclement weather. I ran today instead, 8.7 hilly, windy and windy miles in the country around my Mom's place. Good hard run, though had to tough it out in my adizero which feel very small on a run longer than 5mi.

Mon - 3.12 Protons (fastest

Mon - 3.12 Protons (fastest 5k ever run - WTH?)

Tues - world of hurt at the gym

Thurs - 6.8 including 6x400m sprints

Friday - world of hurt at the gym

Sun - 7.25 in Zems

17.17 for the week.

I tested out all my gear this week for Sunday's half. I hate everything, esp. the Zems I'd planned on wearing. The seams are just bad. I think I might just stiffen the toes on some water shoes with duct tape so they don't catch and stub my toe. Whatever I wear, I am thinking if the road is decent, I might do the last few miles barefoot. I found out my friend has the same time goal as me but for the full (2:28) - I was joking we would finish together cause I'm so slow and, indeed, I nailed it :).

This is the most I have ever

This is the most I have ever run in one week..started to run on my lunch time, which is the warmest part of the day upper 60's lower 70's all week....

Monday 3.5

Tuesday 3.25

Wed 3.25

Thursday off

Friday 3.25

Saturday 6

Sunday 6.5

Total 25.75 miles

Thursday- 4.9 mile walk+ 4.5

Thursday- 4.9 mile walk+ 4.5 mi BF muddy trail run (first) - sub 35F

Saturday- 7.5 mi walk + 2.5 mi BF trail run- sub 35F- mud caked onto big toe and it went numb for a minute until I shook it off. Otherwise, BF seems to help the circulation/Raynauds rather than bother it even at near freezing.

Sunday- 5 mi walk

24.4 total miles

7 BF miles

Had a great week,

Had a great week, running-wise: ~28.5 miles (sadly, only 4 BF. the rest in Vibram KSOs), with my longest-ever run (12 miles) on Saturday. Ran from my home to the Randall Davey Audubon Center (8 miles) then halfway back to meet my family for some chai.
