It amazes me that people still think running barefoot (or in his case socked) is so brave ("mental toughness"). I think running in shoes is brave knowing how damaging they can be.

kind of the red pill, why would you go back to shod?
Still young should be learnt to first run barefoot. Easy to start during warmer days of the year.
My observation is people running harder than they can handle, getting stressed and dissatisfied. Barefoot sets one back to one's rightful level and I guess not everybody wants to face it.
