I really enjoy the wildlife on my runs. Makes it all the more enjoyable :)

5 mile run yesterday ( Monday ) evening. It was 58 degrees. I did the first 4 miles BF and the last mile in my Sockwas. I'm still conditioning my feet from the winter and I think as I have gotten older I have gotten better at listening to my body, so this time of year I now always carry footwear with me just in case... I have ruined too many hard-earned calluses over the years and I have finally learned when to stop.
I did get to see a lone wild turkey on my run.

I did 5 miles this evening after work- a great way to end the work week. After the snow this week, this evening's 50 degrees felt balmy. The red-wing blackbirds along my route are gearing up for their annual dive bombing of passing walkers, runners and bikers. They have actually drawn blood from my scalp in the past. I understand that this is part of their protective behavior of their nesting areas. There are actually signs along the trail warning passersby of aggressive birds

14.5km on Sunday morning.. Nice couple of loops around both lakes. Fairly steady pace throughout which was pleasing. Witnessed a small dog, whose owner had decided to let him off the leash, try and get too close to the nesting swan on my second lap -Mr swan didn't like that and saw him off pretty swiftly (they're pretty impressive looking when they're angry!)... dog ran off with its tail between its legs..:D
