Barefoot running and covid-19

Since I was participating so actively in this discussion, I felt a responsibility to include excerpts from an article which came into my news feed a few hours ago.

I don't know the reliability of Fox News reports on coronavirus, but they are quoting some "Spanish General Council of Official Podiatrist Colleges" about "chicken-pox-like lesions" especially in children and adolescents, and sometimes adults, appearing on the feet, which seem to be a COVID symptom.

Wow!

@BarefootTJ : If you think this is important enough for a "Wow!," maybe others might appreciate mirroring this thread to a more prominent spot to encourage more informed discussions on barefoot running and health and barefooting (since who needs to wear shoes if I'm not in the office) during the COVID epidemic. I don't want to sound alarmist, though. Risks will remain whatever we choose.

This is the main forum though. Most reads and writes are done in this forum. I will mirror it to the Heath forum though, since it would make most sense there.

More in the news on "COVID Toes (also found on the soles)" as I had seen reported in my comment above. This report comes from the Chicago area, so it's not just the Spanish who are seeing it; it's been seen quite a bit in the USA, evidently, again, as the Spanish reported, in children and adolescents mostly. The CDC, however, has not yet designated "COVID Toes" as an official symptom.

I'm surprised the CDC isn't recognizing these spots on the feet/toes as a sign of COVID.
