Fellowship of the Morton's Toe

I'm not sure though. It looks like your mets are lined up evenly, not the 2nd toe's met being longer that the 1st toe's.

That fracture looks painful. How much longer are you out of running for?

What do you plan to do to change your chances of developing another fracture?

Next week I'll be visiting a medical doctor that is specialized in sport related issues for athletes. Hoping they can help me make my feet stronger and maybe more flexible. Will also check if Morton is there and what we can do about it.

Yes, verify if MT is present. Making your toes and feet stronger should help.

I first visited a sports doctor, whom send me further to a podotherapist. The podotherapist did an analysis of me walking and over a pressure plate, a video analysis while running barefoot and checked the flexibility of toes, feet and legs.

The result of the analysis is that my landing is good. However the pressure plate showed some in-balance and the video showed that my arm and leg swing could use some improvements too plus some other small issues. Basically my body is a bit stiff and sitting all day behind a desk at work does not help. He recommends that I train my core. I could use the trainings that are described in the book: Natural running by Matthias Marquardt. Be aware it is written in German even if the title is not. He will also send me more tips and tricks and I am sure I will have some follow-up sessions with him.

The good news is that he thinks that I just had back luck with my fractures and with training I can make my feet stronger and body more flexible. He sees no issues why I could not run a 50k barefoot in a few years from now, which is my long term goal.

By the way, the podotherapist recommends a lot of his patients to go run barefoot (or with vvf). He told me that unfortunately most do not stick to it :-( So anyone in the Netherlands (Eindhoven) that is looking for barefoot friendly podotherapist should see him.

That's excellent. Would you mind adding his contact info to the Barefoot Friendly Docs & Specialists Map? There's a link stickied in the Health forum.
