Kicking off the week on a Monday for a change - 7km on the beach this morning. Very chilly, just under 5 degrees C and a nasty headwind greeting me at the start, so I put my head down and slogged into it for a while before turning around and coming home with a wet sail. Still a bit gravelly, but I think I'm on the home stretch with my cold - fresh air is the best medicine.

6.5km around the streets this morning as the tide was a bit high for beach running. Still under 10 degrees, but that hasn't stopped the local birds from thinking that spring is around the corner and swooping season has begun. This morning it was a spur-winged plover (or more correctly a masked lapwing), which is a local bird that is well known for being quite aggressive during nesting season. This one reared up out of nowhere and hovered in front of me doing a fairly convincing Gandalf "you cannot pass" impersonation, so I decided to cross the road.

Stay safe out there kids.

Boulder and I ran 5 miles Tuesday and 4 miles Thursday.
The skies were clear we could see the moon and stars. We also heard some owls.

To finish off the week:

Saturday - 8km on the beach, felt really flat and almost stopped a few times, but plodded on and made it home in one piece.

Sunday - unplanned 7km around the streets in the afternoon. My daughter was off playing at a friend's house and the baby had a nap, so I realised the escape hatch was open and snuck out for a jog. It was nice to run on warmer streets for a change.

I'm with you on the joys of 6am running @Runlite01 - it's a magical time when it's clear and still.
