Hi people!

Registered: 2016  and not officially presented here :bag:

I started running on my bare feet on late 2012 after about 15y shod. Slow health decline on joints, frecuent pain/soar made me wonder if I could make any change to my training and general aproach to running. So just started make short runs to improve running technique. Felt great!! No turning back since.

I'm from Galicia (Spain), mild weather, quite wet, I can run barefoot almost all year round :). Concrete and asphalt serve me well, but I mostly run on trails using sandals and fivefingers.

My most recent #fail is trying to run a full marathon barefoot. It was risky, but I had to try!! :p after having run several half-marathons successfully  (PB 1h42'). I was not ready to run barefoot more than 3h, my feet felt trashed (no bruises no blisters, just internal pain). I now know I have to train more.

Hi XoseM,
Thanks for sharing your experience!
My goal (long term) is also to be able to run a marathon barefoot, that reminds me to never be too confident about my capability and take time to build up to the marathon distance (for now I've never run more than 10k barefoot).

By the way, congrats for your PB on half-marathon, 1h42 is a damn good time!!!
