Barefoot Running
Day!
I wish I logged in yesterday to respond. Happy IBRD (belated)! I represented in my 2019 IBRD tee-shirt at a local obstacle run. Reactions to my barefoot run were generally positive, and I heard at least one person read the back of my shirt then tell their group that "Today is international barefoot running day". Hopefully, the web page hit-counters are showing increased interest today!

That's a bummer Rob didn't show up. I hope all is well with him.It was a pretty rainy, cool day, and I guess the time was inconvenient for Rob Matthews, the only other guy who signed up, via Meetup (he's still down as an Assistant Organizer). I waited at the entrance to my synagogue, where the rendezvous spot was, but after fifteen minutes waiting, I was off running, although kind of slow. I left my shoes back at my apartment, then entered New York City's Central Park, where I shed my tee-shirt and glasses. I took a slow pace, especially because of the rain (my callouses tend to get prune-like and tear more easily, so I'm more careful to trod lightly and avoid "pushing-off" with the back foot in the rain.) ran the full six-mile loop in New York City's Central Park, stopping briefly for some chin-ups. I did get a few comments from some incredulous tourists, but the park was overall pretty quiet, and very green, in the spring rain.
Please post them in the IBRD forum in your own thread. I plan to link to them from there. Thanks.TJ, have some photos from our event in Paris - should I post them on the event discussion, and link from here?
