Variety of Terrain

I’m grateful to be live in a place that gives me a variety of surfaces for my feet to experience. There’s a lot of mountain biking and hiking trails in my immediate vicinity so my feet get exposed to many different textures. I think my favourite is the clay-like softly consolidated surfaces I find in some areas. Leaf covered and grassy surfaces are pretty pleasant as well. The more rugged trails with larger rocks are good too. I’m still struggling with gravelly surfaces, especially the pea gravel variety (gotta remind myself to not always avoid them). Asphalt and concrete are tolerable for me but I pass on them when possible. There’s still occasional patches of snow that are exhilarating for the short period of time I’m able to experience them.I’d really like to find more sand but it’s pretty rare in mountainous terrain.

All those are wonderful, I agree. My favorite was running in the rain in a downpour. :coldfeet:

Looking forward to trying that soon. Spring is still a little confused here, we’ve been experiencing a bit of snow and cooler temperatures again.
