Nice run this morning, a bit over 9 miles looping around the river downtown before dawn. The water was particularly shiny. There’s something close to camaraderie among those who are up too early to be either sane or still up, especially among runners. I’m finding it rather liberating to wear sandals and just plod through pools of dark, letting my feet adjust to what they find, although I’m carrying a little torch for visibility in rough spots and for automobiles.
24.2 miles run this week, 3.4 unshod; 6.3 miles walked, 2.8 unshod, plus everyday bits where I don’t track distances. My normal shoes have been collecting dust for nearly three months, and I’ve averaged over 120 miles/month without them.
