2018 Winter Challenge - Mile Report

Looks like we're behind in awarding the snowflakes. I'll see about getting that done in the next month. For all those living north of the equator now is your time to enter the winter barefoot challenge.

9th Annual Winter Challenge

Everyone is welcome to participate, whether you run or walk at least 1/3 of a mile in one outing. This is a fun event, almost anyone can walk barefoot in temperatures at 10°C. Don't let the name Winter Challenge frighten you away. So challenge yourself just a little and run/walk in the cold or even the snow.

Southern Hemisphere the challenge runs from April 1 2018 to Sept 31, 2018
Northern Hemisphere the challenge runs from Oct 1 2018 to March 31 2019

RULES
1. All runs/walks must be BAREFOOT
2. Temperature with windchill must be less than or equal to 50°F (10°C)
3. Any run/walk of 1/3 mile (0.5 km) or over can be counted
4. Add your total distance and runs in the appropriate temperature range on the following spreadsheet:

(Qualifying runs already done can be added to the spreadsheet.)

Select 'Units' (km or mi.) Total distances will be converted to MILES. You will need to convert the temperatures manually to °F. NEW 2017 I have added in the top right header a temperature calculator that will convert from ºF to ºC for those who do not use ºF (for the whole world but the USA)

Awards
Everyone who enters will receive a Winter Challenge medal. A winners medal will also be awarded for the one who covers the most miles on foot on each continent and a World Champion for most miles overall. We also award a Frosty Foot medal for the one who runs/walks in the lowest temperature. Below is a sample of this years participate medal:
