Ok All,
We had three great runs this week.
6 miles Tuesday.
4 miles Friday.
6 miles this morning.
Todays run was at 5:30 am, 70 deg. f., 95 % Rh and slight drizzle the whole run.
I could not tell if I was sweating or wet from drizzle.
We only spotted rabbits and birds today.

Totally great to get out!!!!

The week for me was:
Tuesday 8.4km
Thursday 8.75km
Saturday 16.65km

All good runs, although Autumn is really starting to knock on the door here with more wet and windy weather. So there's generally more leaves and twigs and bits fallen from trees strewn across the path to give you something to pick your way through...:)

I went for a long walk yesterday, setting my personal high for daily step count at over 47,000. I did the first 6.75 miles unshod, but chip-and-seal stopped that. I couldn’t keep walking on it, so I started jogging. That got me about 1.3 miles until my toes were starting to blister and the balls of my feet felt raw. (Went the rest of the way in sandals.) After stopping for lunch, my feet were too sore to walk, so, being a happy idiot, instead of taking a bus, I jogged most of the way home at a very slow pace — maybe 16 minutes/mile for about 8 miles. This morning, my worst ache is from sunburn. Slow jogging might be my newest best friend.

This week, I noticed that I was counting Sunday as my start-of-week day, while the dates in the titles were for Monday-starts. So earlier mileage tracking posts from me might not be entirely accurate. I doubt anyone cares, but I’m the kind of guy who feels the need to disclose such minutae.

I also saw that walking distances count, so I went back and made conservative estimates from my step counts. (Days over 5k steps, 2400 steps/“mile”.) Suddenly, I feel like I’ve actually put more than a few miles in. From this week on, though, I’ll be tracking actual walking distances (and ignoring the usual day-to-day plodding around), not just estimating from steps.

So: this week, 16.8 unshod miles and 19.7 minimally shod miles, 25.7 walking and 10.8 running; 36.5 total. Year to date: 20.6 unshod miles and 223.6 minimally shod miles, 213.8 walking and 30.4 running; 244.2 total.
