Just checking in

Hi friends. I haven't posted here in a while, so I thought I would drop in a quick update.

I've been running almost exclusively barefoot over the summer, averaging about 10 to 20 miles a week. I've dropped about 20 pounds since the last time I was here. Now in the 230's. I'm still slow, but my average pace has improved to 12 minutes a mile.

I have my first 10k race coming up in October, which I intend to do barefoot.

I still have yet to encounter another barefoot runner in my area, although I have had a good deal of questions and interest about it from friends and random people.

It's been a great summer, and I'm looking forward to cooler temperatures and many more miles this Fall. I hope you all have been doing well.

Congrats on the weight loss! Sounds like you're going about that part of it right, too: just enjoy running and the health benefits are just gravy. :)

Good luck on the 10K! Looking forward to the race report. Even at race day, though, keep it fun! No point if it's not fun, I think.
