Sneaked out for an early evening run in the sunshine yesterday (yes the sun's back, hoorah!:)...)
So 7.35km done around the lake a couple of times.
I've noticed that the people you run past in the evening are very different to those I generally pass on morning runs. Mornings are probably 90% other runners/exercisers, most of whom are happy to say hello, etc... Evenings however tend to be probably 60% 'general public' walking at the end of the day, most of whom seem to satisfy themselves with giving you a funny look, but not saying hello etc...
Just an observation (we're a funny species aren't we...).
Good run & looking forward to the next already...;)

No running this week (week days), But I had to report anyway on critter sightings.
We are on a trip to south Central Texas (Comfort TX.) Flat Rock Ranch. On our yearly mountain bike till we drop trip.
To start with we fill humming bird feeders that go right outside the kitchen window. We can stand at the window and 5 or 6 at a time will come up and feed (approximately 3 feet away).
We saw many deer, turkeys, jackrabbits, armadillos, red squirrels, angora sheep, black angus cattle, rock squirrels and cotton tail rabbits.
I had to start over for birds we have seen wrens, buzzards, lesser goldfinch, painted buntings, phoebe, cedar wax wings. vermillion fly catcher and many more (were not really bird watchers by definition but when they are everywhere who could not help but watch.

Any way when we return we will do a 10 K run Saturday at Bunker Sands Wetlands if all goes good and another run Sunday with Boulder

Saturday I ran a 10k at John Bunker Sands Wetlands.

The terrain was a mix of gravel road on levy, dirt with grass on levy.

The gravel was mix sizes of aggregate (large and small).

The dirt with grass was totally saturated from the 2 days before rains.

I don’t know which was more challenging the gravel was a little rough on my feet and really made me try to use good technique. The dirt was so soft it was a break from the gravel but my feet sunk into it making traction weird.

The sights and sound were very cool.

3 mile run Sunday with Boulder.

45.9 miles for last week! Highest weekly mileage in 2018 for me so far. 22 of those miles were this weekend where I did 13.6 hilly trail miles and another 8.7 on gravel with a little bit of hills and a tiny bit of trail. My plan is to keep going with at least this many miles per week through the fall.

Only 6 of those miles were unshod. The rest in huaraches but I'm training for a few trail ultras this season and have been trying to make sure my sandal running and tying is ready for some trails where unshod would just not be possible for me ... at least not yet. :)
