Found this very interesting post on Facebook. Here are just some of the pics I think are neat and related to barefootedness. A comment under one pic even picked up on the fact that a lot of these kids are barefoot during this era.

When I was about 13, my best friend Charlene and I were skateboarding, or rather, I was doing the pushing, and she was standing on the back...as usual. I was the athletic one; she was the lazy one. ;-) We got all around San Diego that way. My board was a Lonnie Toft with Sims wheels. The board was rather long but not a "longboard." I bought it from her brother Terry. We started down this hill that had lots of gravel on it. The board started to wobble, so I told her to jump on the count of 3. She did not. I ended up scraping the top of my foot. Didn't hurt at first, but as the red prickly dots started filling in, it hurt like hell! Good times!
