Hello from North Idaho

Welcome again!

Basically, yeah! I also started my own running club in my small town as one didn't exist. I got pretty lucky because one of the first members was a fried of mine who wasn't running at the time but was in to general barefootedness going barefoot around his organic farm every summer. So, right away with the club I had one convert. Later in the summer I was telling someone else in town about my club who was wanting to start running to get in shape and she asked me about why I ran barefoot. She decided why not just start out running barefoot herself. Pretty crazy to think that in a town of 2,500 three of us are running unshod.

I might have just gotten lucky that these two people were already adventurous enough to try it but you never know. I've got family in western MT myself and I know in the mix with ranchers and rich people escaping the coast you've got your standard granola outdoor types that would certainly be open to the idea.

Maybe when I transfer to the university, I'll be able to get some people. Right now at the community college, there's one girl who seems to be a year round barefooter, as she's still walking around campus barefyeven in our frigid October temperatures. I'm hoping to make friends with her and her group, one of which also occasionally walks barefoot too.
