The Autism Society of Iowa is working on putting an event together for next years Barefoot Autism Challenge at the Des Moines Water Works Park on April 6th at 5:30. We're also planning having the current Miss Iowa in attendance too. Anyone who wants to take part, let me know.

I notice you've posted about a lot of these autism awareness walks, but have you maybe thought of doing one for Alzheimer's?
Not that I don't support the cause, as I am myself autistic (Asperger's syndrome), but I also support Alzheimer's awareness, because my grandma has the early onset Alzheimer's (she turned 61 this year), and if there were any barefoot for Alzheimer's things like this, I'd join those.
No worries, it was mostly an idea, as I have done the walk to end Alzheimer's (I was with my family, so I wore shoes), but thought it'd be great if there was one where you were encouraged to do the walk barefoot.
