I've been dabbling in minimalist running off and on for a few years, but have finally decided to fully commit. I've struggled with a bunion on my right foot for most of my adulthood; and am hoping that minimalist footwear and/or barefoot running can help reverse the effects- while making running more enjoyable. I've got my first DIY kit from Xero Shoes on the way, and can't wait to try them out!

I look forward to learning from the vast number of experienced barefoot runners here.

Welcome, Rick. If you find minshoes aren't helping (they always threw off my form), you might want to try barefoot running. If you do well with minshoes, then wonderful. Some do. Good luck, and ask lots of questions.

Thank you, TJ. I actually just started incorporating some barefoot running into my normal runs. Right now, I'm only running a couple blocks barefoot, but it does feel very good. I will probably increase my barefoot running over time. Definitely don't want to over-do it!
