It was time to plant my garden. I had just received the soil test results back from the local university and headed out to buy the minerals I needed to turn my sand into a lush green garden. I say sand, cause the test results show I have 86% sand and trace amounts of organic matter. Amazing I've been able to grow anything the past few years.

I first headed to LeBlanc's Hardware, local hardware store that accepts me being barefoot. They couldn't help me out so I headed to Demer's Garden Center to buy my plants and the minerals I needed. As I was leaving I grabbed my sandals as backup. We found all the vegetables, flowers and herbs we wanted to plant and I was having trouble locating the compounds to balance my soil.

I finally asked one of the kids working there and he called over an older man, his father and owner. Now I am always a little apprehensive about being kicked out. So after he helped me pick out the stuff I needed I was not surprised when he mentioned my bare feet, but it was something along the lines of do I always like to be barefoot. I was a bit surprised with him mentioning my barefeet in a positive statement. This lead into a discussion of being barefoot and was totally unexpected. He told me he had two women that often come into the place barefoot and he had no trouble with it at all. I was so relieved and happy, I'll never buy my garden stuff elsewhere if I can help it.

Upon returning home I got all the plants put in and now will work on figuring out what seeds I want to plant. So it was a very good barefoot day for me.
