Toes on Roads Competition

Victory Ceremony for the August ToRC

We had 24 active participants in August. The total and barefoot distances they accumulated were a bit longer than in July: 2778 km / 2449 km (88% skin-to-ground).

As some people ran a bit less than they usually do, I (gueng) took my chance to gather the first place in the barefoot category (243 km). My french colleague Christian Barefooteur made it to the top position with respect to total distance (281 km). Congratulations, Christian!

The German team was again the largest one with 8 people, and it accumulated the longest total and the longest barefoot distances again (973 km / 847 km). France defended its 2nd places in both categories.

Have fun,
Martin (gueng)

Wanderer Jiyuren from San Luis Obispo, California, scraped the victories in both categories (237 km, all skin-to-ground). Congratulations, Wanderer!

The German team was again the largest one with 7 people this time, and it also accumulated the longest distances again (925 km / 918 km). France defended its 2nd places in both categories.

All the best for October,
Martin (gueng)

Victory Ceremony for the October ToRC

2544 km were run by 25 participants in October, 2235 km of that (87%) skin-to-ground.

Philippe Wansart from Marche-en-Famenne (Belgium), who had already won the May competition, ran to the top position again in both categories (265 km all skin-to-ground). Congratulations, Philippe!

The most active nation was again Germany by participant number (8), total (951 km) as well as barefoot (871 km) distances. The Belgian team of 4 people made a great job by conquering the 2nd rank in both mileage categories.

All the best,
Martin (gueng)

Obviously, distances decreased significantly with respect to October, but this is probably expected at the beginning of the cold part of the year on the northern hemisphere :).

All the best,
Martin (gueng)

P.S.: Thanks for asking, Petit-Pied. I found a little cut in my right foot this week, and it's damn cold here at the moment. So I prefer running with shoes for some time now. If I had entered my "minshod" runs (which I decided not to do), I would have made the 2nd place in the "total" category :).

So it may be interesting to sum up the individual as well as the national distances over the 12 months.

Victory Ceremony for the January and February ToRCs

Activity was rather low in the first two months of 2017:
18/19 participants ran approx. 1600 km in total and 900 skin-to ground.
This can partly be attributed to winter time, but we have to note that in the last winter there were significantly more participants as well as longer distances run.

Anders from Lund (Sweden) made it to the top in the January barefoot category by running 127 km skin-to-ground. Christian Barefooteur from Issy-les-Moulineaux (France) won the total category, running 249 km.
The national ranking was lead by the French team with 335 km barefoot and 547 km in total.

February turned out to be a „German“ month again:
The skin-to-ground category was - by a hair's breadth - won by Barefoot Robin from Karlsbad (129 km), while rrunner64 from Darmstadt clearly dominated the total category (269 km).
The distances of the German team summed up to 419 km barefoot and 735 km in total.

Congratulations to all!

Hoping to see ToRC promoted by spring soon,
Martin (gueng)

I keep forgetting to join the TOTR competition . I've managed to keep up logging mileage for the Winter Challenge, but that's about all I've done....:sorry: Sorry to be mostly MIA from the group. Life, you know?
