2016 Mileage Club

I'm so sorry, Dama. :sorry: It hurts to lose our loved ones. You were there with her, and that is so special.
Thanks TJ, difficult times for sure but it's life after all. She was 92 years old.

Hey, wait a minute, according to my factory ticker mile records I actually had 1404.7 miles, I was closer to my goal as it turns out...not by much but it's something:)
so I had:
1292.7 bf miles
112. VFF miles

Best year evah !

3002 kilometers

1951km barefoot
1051km "other" (mostly my old Vibram Dunas 10mm huaraches)

That's 1865 miles total, 1212 miles barefoot.

Staying busy in 2017, too!

Christian

Anyone else want to report their 2016 mileage? Please do so soon.

Straggler!
;)

Lol! Bite me! ;)
Seriously though, as you know I've had a lot on my mind and things taking my time and attention, especially the last couple months. I may be straggling to report, but thankfully I've still been out there doing mileage. Hopefully I can still get my info tonight, but I have chores to do and a letter to write my son yet...

2016 Mileage:
Running: 1,278 miles (all barefoot)
Hiking/Walking: ~550 miles (barefoot)
And not sure how many miles of random walking, but according to Charity Miles I walked/ran a total of 2,053 miles in 2016 (not counting the activities where the app crashed and the mileage was not recorded, which unfortunately was fairly often with my old phone). I do not know how many of those other miles (beyond the 1,828) were barefoot vs shod, but I very rarely wear shoes. If I do, it's very minimalist (usually XeroShoes).

No running injuries. A few minor barefoot "injuries" such as thistle thorns ;)

I ran a handful of races last year. All of my normal events, plus a couple new ones. All barefoot. First half marathon of the year (one of my usual races), I earned a PR and won first place in my age group. Just two weeks later, I smashed that PR by about 8 minutes for my second half marathon for the year (another usual). My next race was a new one for me, a "7k" (it's actually 4.64 miles) in which I earned second place in my AG. Then I ran an inaugural 5k at a convention in Kentucky (Horse Park), and won second place in my AG. My next event was also new, a 9-11 memorial 20k ruck/run combination, a different race challenge for me - Carry a rucksack (25lbs minimum) the first 9k, then drop ruck and finish the final 11k. I managed to pull off first place overall! Finally, I finished off my racing for 2016 with another event I tend to do every year, a very hilly rocky 20k trail/road race through forest, gorges, etc, in which I placed first in my AG despite my slow pace. A very successful race year, although I attribute a good deal of that to falling into the lowest end of my age group last year :wacky:. Unfortunately, I also suffered several personal losses which occurred shortly after a few of these races, so my gratification and excitement was short lived :(.
