6 mile run on Sunday we went up to the local Junior collage that has a nice path, 35 deg. f..

5 mile run Tuesday it was overcast and 63 deg.f..

Just over 9km for me this morning. Nice dry morning and not too cold, although the wind did have a bit of a 'bite' to it across the more open sections of the route.
Fairly slow pace today, but it was a good run. Passed quite a few other runners and more than the usual number of cyclists today (do they put bells on bikes these days?;)...).
Feeling pretty good after that one...

Flying Feather Four Miler today. Was worried about the weather for this one, November is always pretty questionable for barefooting, especially in the morning. But it wasn't the temps that were the issue, actually the temp was mild and way higher than forecast - 49F at race start. But everything was wet and it was foggy with mist in the air. Standing around for so long my feet were cold starting out, and only got worse. I can't believe I had numb feet at almost 50F especially after running in the 20's over the last couple weeks. May have done a bit of abrasion to the soles being that they were semi-numb and I was running about as fast as I could go. I don't think its anything to worry about though. Didn't quite place, it was a fairly big event with about 4,000 runners. But finished in 26:14 for an average pace of 6:35/mi, I'm happy with that!

Happy Thanksgiving day! :chicken:

Excellent 5 mile run Thursday (Thanksgiving day) at 6:00 am, Cool moon out and also a sunrise. It was 48 deg. f. with 87% Rh.

Another Great 4 mile run this morning at 6:30 am. Right off the bat I saw the moon and the sunrise again then I heard a screech owl crying.
about 1/2 mil in I caught a squadron of 9 ducks circling the park. Mile 3 I spotted 7 green parrots flying in formation. :D

Ran two long runs this week: one 12.9 miles barefoot; one with 10.5 barefoot and 2.4 in the Xeros. I don't think I'll be running more today, so that's a total of 25.8 miles for the week; 23.4 barefoot, 2.4 in the Xeros. Started yoga this week: Showered a lot and didn't oil up my feet as much, so I got some dry skin and cracked heel callouses and maybe one other crack/tear on the left heel bottom. I'm taking better care now...I guess at this point in the season I can start counting all of this mileage towards the winter challenge, since it was consistently in weather 50 degrees F or under, so it counts towards any winter challenge. The official temperature last night on Manhattan's West Side was 39. Before this, the temperature has been going up over 50 some, although if you count the wind-chill it was under, probably. The city, of course, has numerous sources of artificial heat, so it doesn't feel that cold, especially on the pavement, and is near the ocean, which moderates things.

Did my usual 6.4 miles on the rail trail yesterday, but just at a slow 10min+ pace, legs still feel a slight bit strained from the race Thursday. Today went out just down the road to get a quick 2 miles in since the sun was out, it was calm, and nice in the 40's. Just an easy run again, but the legs feel about back to normal. This has been the first week I think that every day was cold enough to be in the winter challenge.

So for the week that 23.2 miles running, and quite a bit more walking than usual at 3.5 miles.

Running barefoot everyday for fourteen days in a row! There was a day or two of light rain but it doesn't get very cold here. On the other hand, I have taken out some full length running tights. (Wimp!) Never in my wildest imagination would I have ever thought I would be into running this much! So far, so good; my body is holding up pretty well other than some stiffness in my ankles. But nothing that a few minutes of warming up hasn't solved. I also admit I love being barefoot outdoors. This week's total mileage was just shy of 40 miles. I'm waiting to see how long I can keep up this regimen.

Finished the week with a nice relaxed 7.6km. -Some days it just seems smoother & easier than others for no obvious reason at all I find!
Temperature was a bit cooler than recently, but nice and dry again.
Not a great deal of wildlife around to see (other than the resident geese), although the view across the very still water of the lake was quite picturesque. - Quite an impressive reflection of the early morning sky on the water's surface (one day I'll remember to take my phone and get some pictures!):)..

@bare_ftazn sounds great man, at 40 miles a week I'd have to be taking a days break at least. Keep it up! (but also give your body rest if it needs it, remember rest is an important part of training too).

one day I'll remember to take my phone and get some pictures!
You should! But be warned it'll break up your run a lot, I'm often stopping for pics! Had a nice red tailed hawk right next to me today but I figured as soon as I stopped to take a pic he'd bug out so I kept going a consistent pace and just looked at him as I went by.

9.7 km in a race on Sunday.
Was it supposed to be a 10k, just a bit short? Hope it went well!
