Mileage Reporting Week 44 (Oct 31 - Nov 6)

Nice 7.75km this morning as the sun came up. Set off a little quicker than my usual pace for some reason -not sure why, but it felt quite comfortable so I went with it.
Quite a nice day for running too -wasn't too cold and it was still dry when I finished. Passed the usual keep-fit folks busily doing whatever their personal trainer yelled at them. They always seem to say good morning now -obviously getting used to seeing me trotting by...

4 miles Tuesday.
5 mile Friday.
Been in the upper 60's for morning outings humidity in the 90% range.
overcast but nice.

I had the first 3 days of the week mostly off, then worked the later 4. I ran each of the first 3: 6.2mi, 8.3mi, 6.4mi. Last day was speedwork. Probably too much effort for 3 days in a row, still feel like I'm recovering from the marathon. Thursday at work my legs were actually sore like after a decent sized race. Plus sitting so much they were very stiff. So I just tried to take it easy. But the theme lasted all weekend, very stiff legs (though thankfully the soreness mostly faded). I walked to of the nights after work, got my last bit of after work outdoors in before time change since from now till next spring it will be dark when I start and finish work. :sorry:
Got this week off though, so hopefully with some rest and activity legs will be back to normal in a couple days. Hope to finally be back up to a long run this week.

So week totaled just under 21 miles running, also about 4 miles walking, and oh I forgot I got a couple of rides in there 22.8 miles cycling.

I'm new to this reporting thing, even new to keeping track of my mileage. Was busy yesterday morning, not with the NYC Marathon, but with work arranging deliveries around the roads which were closed for the Marathon, keeping Sunday School open, as well as arranging some post-marathon snacks for some runners. Had trouble getting to the neighborhood YMCA in the afternoon with all the crowds and the police asking for ID. But by nighttime, all the fuss had died down and the New York and Brooklyn streets seemed pretty quiet: People were all tuckered-out and partied-out. But I finally had time to get out and run then, so I went to visit Mom in Brooklyn and ran my traditional Mid-Brooklyn-to-Westside Central Park Manhattan jog. So that's 12.9 miles, according to GoogleMaps. I go around the west part of Prospect Park in Brooklyn and up Ninth Ave. in Manhattan, which is not the shortest route, but I like to avoid Herald Square and Times Square. Pretty slow-paced, in 3 hours, 5 minutes. Stopped here and there to take in the view, as well as to do sets of ten pull-ups on the the scaffolding opportunities. First 2.6 miles or so in my Xero-Shoe do-it-yourself 4 mm-Connect FeelTrue sole, with my own laces. All the rest, that's 10.3-miles, real barefoot. Wore a running-top (it helps avoid nipple-chafing), plus hooded-sweatshirt. It's starting to get a bit nippy out, but as I acclimate to the colder season I may ditch the shirt again, provided the NYPD doesn't stop me for "bizarre behavior."
