Ok traveled to Marathon TX for the Marathon 2 Marathon race.
As mentioned this was my first race that I traveled out of town for.1 hour flight to Midland TX.
2 hours driving South West. To a town with a population of a little over 400. Elevation of 4040 something.
The course for the 1/2 Marathon had some rough terrain.
I spotted some prairie dogs playing about.

Today I did a nice recovery 5 miles with Boulder

Went for a late evening run last night starting sometime after 7:00 pm as the daytime temps had dropped into the low 60s. Had a great run. Ran the streets in town for something new and a change of running surface. Ran 6.0 miles and finished with about a 1.5 mile walk. Looking forward to another 6 mile or so run this evening. This fall weather this year has been great for running!

The 1/2 Marathon was excellent, great weather. I also met up with some cousins some from NC some from east Texas. I did run this race Barefoot.:nailbiting: I kept with my favorite technique of relaxing all parts of legs, ankles and feet.

4 mile run on Wednesday, clear skies in the upper 60 degree
5 mile run on Friday, Cool sliver of a Moon popped up towards the end of our run.(puts a smile on my face)

Ran 6 miles this morning again temps were nice around 52 degrees. Then walked 2 miles back to the car. May skip run tomorrow morning as temps will be dipping into the 30's tonight. Thats getting a bit cold for me to do a barefoot run. Could use a days break anyway as my arch muscles seem to be a bit sore.

Busy week workwise for me so only managed to squeeze in a 6.6km this morning.
Nice steady circuit as the sun came up. -Lots of leaves and bits of broken twigs around (general Autumn stuff really..) so found myself concentrating most of the time on picking myself a route through that. Only picked up one thorn along the way so not too bad I guess...

Well done Runlite -nicely run...

I did run the day after my last post, last week, so I ran all seven days for a total of almost 45 miles. That is quite an accomplishment for me considering I have only run regularly for about two years after finding barefoot running.

For this week, I have, again, run every day of the week and tallied about 35 miles. Wednesday was a low mileage day at only 1 mile and Saturday was the high mileage day with about 7 miles. We are having scattered showers in Oakland today but I went out with a raincoat and baseball cap. The rain didn't stop others from running but I was definitely the only one running barefoot. It was quite beautiful and I felt great. Puddles. Mud. Glorious.

Tonight, I am heading to Indianapolis for business. There may not be as many opportunities to run this week. Anyone run barefoot in downtown Indy???

I did run this race Barefoot.

My hat's off to you. Is that gravel on pavement? That has got to be the worse barefoot conditions to run on. wow.

As for me I didn't get another run in. Was going to run today but when I woke up in the afternoon I could hear it was pouring and just went back to bed and slept another hour. By the time I got up it had died down to a drizzle but I had to get ready for work.

I did get a nice bike ride in Saturday though, beautiful fall day but very windy. Took my camera on the bike for an 18 mile ride hoping to get some fall colors on the rail trail but the wind pretty much knocked off all the pretty leaves. While the weather has been nice this fall, we seem to be lacking the pretty fall colors this year, *sigh*.

15 miles running this week, 18 miles cycling. All barefoot still.

What a great post! I can't wait to be up to that mileage, Barefoot running is brand new to me and I am only up to a couple miles a day. Your an inspiration- thank you! Love the part "Puddles. Mud. Glorious." <

This has been a great week where I could beat my own records twice!
On Tuesday I went on a 15 km run to test myself for the following Sunday race. I finished it in 1h39'29", what translates into a pace of 6:38 min/km. Then, on Sunday I had the race. That was 16.1 km in 1h39'04", meaning a pace of 6:09 min/km.
All in all, 31.1 km for the week.

Also, holy mother of god...
What kind of asphalt is that!!?? :wideeyed:
