Since Haloween is tomorrow already was just wondering if anyone is dressing up and attending any parties/events barefoot or has maybe attended any halloween events in the past barefoot.

This morning I've been thinking ahead to halloween next year and what I could choose for a costume. I would prefer some type of spooky costume in which I could be barefoot but one which would mostly cover my feet as to not be ovbious that I was barefoot if I choose to be in public places. This of course would mean wearing something like a cloak or cape. The choices are probably limited to characters such as grim reapers, sorcerer,s wizards, or maybe could pull off a zombie type outfit if creative enough.

Right now I'm thinking of going the grim reaper route as that is fairly spooky character. Maybe some of you fellow barefoot runners have some ideas /stories for me.

While not scary, I have done a few races, including a half-marathon, as a caveman (see my profile image). I also have a pirate costume and a friar's habit that I have not yet run in (while the Franciscans and Capuchins now wear at least sandals and usually shoes, orginally they went totally barefoot, so a barefoot friar is quite authentic). For a scary character, I think your suggestions of the Grim Reaper or a zombie would be great choices.

The Caveman outfit looks quite authentic! It got me thinking about dressing possibly as a viking although not scary it could be another barefoot oppertunity. Just not sure that vikings were barefoot as they were around cooler climates. They did not wear capes or cloaks though. Maybe a good reason to get one of those hemets with the bull horns. ;)

I just googled the friar's habit as I was not sure what that was but yeah that also looks like a good choice also.

There are some costume parties held in our town each year and it would be fun to attend some to see what others have come up with for costumes. Since I enjoy being barefoot I figure why not take atvantage of the oppertunity around halloween to be barefoot in places you normally couldn't be. Some of these places that have these events are local eating establishments so concealing my barefeet is probably best.

Early morning (6 am on Halloween 2016) barefoot airport traveler? At the Atlanta airport walking between terminal T and B barefoot. Got off a United flight barefoot and heading to Delta. People are traveling in flip flops but no one else is barefoot. I look kind of dazed at this hour. Someone might think I am scary. Next stop, Indianapolis.

Sounds like a fun oppertunity to be barefoot. You know it seems like more and more people fly with flip flops these days. I always where flip flops when flying. Doing so does make TSA checks move more swiftly. I could use a good barefoot vacation it would sure be relaxing.

Have not gone barefoot much at airports as I get scared of the shoe police sometimes. :( I did go quite a distance at the Denver airport barefoot as I took off my shoes to quickly walk to the next concorse as to be sure to not miss my next flight. I remember walking on a very long escalator barefoot. That was kinda fun!

Guess I have been barefoot at the Raleigh, NC airport and once got off the plane and put my flip flops in my carry on bag then picked up my suitcase and proceded to walk all the way to the rental car building to pick up my rental car and did the paperwork for the car barefoot. It was late and was just tired of the flip flops. Apparently I have been barefoot at airports more than I realized.

I would if I could. But tonight I have a service provider, plus it's Dancing With The Stars' Halloween night.

We had a harvest fest on Saturday and it was cold and wet with temperatures in the 40ºF. I had volunteered to work on the rock climbing wall, which required me to help the kids (and brave adults) into their harness and then hook them into the belay system. I had been walking around on outside during the morning barefoot but decided for just standing around I would need my shoes, so I put on some of my light weight boots. So no bare feet for me. By the end of the day I was glad to shuck the shoes and walk barefoot while moving the equipment back inside. Think I made the right choice seeing how we were outside for almost 5 hours basically just standing around, but sure wish I could have comfortably managed it barefoot.

I did get at least one comment from a friend that I was wearing shoes.

I went barefoot in the airport once in Vegas, it was great and TSA was a breeze. However- Do you go barefoot everywhere? Grocery store, day to day errands? I am new to being barefoot more often than not and generally feel better that way. When I have to run errands or go to the grocery store, ect I don't want to wear shoes and am curious if anyone else goes fully barefoot in public places? Any stories, nightmares or funny tales to tell?

Going barefoot in public places is a small dream of mine. Often wish I lived somewhere further south where it is a bit more common and more accepted than where I'm currently living. Winters are a bit tough here for bare feet. I have never shopped barefoot at a grocery store but have been so in convenience stores many times. Guess I spent most of the day barefoot at a local car show in the downtown area of a nearby town a couple years ago with over 500 cars attending which covers a big part of the downtown streets. Tried going in a Wal-mart once but that did not work out well. Everything seems to be more enjoyable if it can be done barefoot.

Does anyone have any Halloween costume pictures to share? Please post them here.

i fly bf until i'm told i need to wear shoes. slip on my sandals then take them off on the plane. some people you will never get through to. you could have a better conservation with a brick wall. go bf, carry sandals in your carry on. problem solved.
