Monday 2 miles.
Tuesday 4 miles.
Both starting at 4:45 am
The warm temps are still hanging in here.
very nice outings.

Monday 7.6 mile run, easy pace. Tuesday cycled to the trail, about 16 miles round trip, and ran 8 wen I got there. Modest 8 1/2 min pace. Today did my long run for the week, again cycling 16 miles to the trail, then running 12. Wore my HRM for the first time in a long time, I should have been wearing this sooner, but figured these last few runs before the marathon I should make sure to keep my HR at MAF or less. Well that started around 8 1/2 min/mi pace but the last half I slowed down into the 9 1/2 pace range, and was still a couple beats over. Not quite as good as I was hoping for, especially considering it was less than half the marathon distance. Should be much cooler at the marathon though, that always helps. In fact I am getting nervous if the temp takes a big swing down I won't be prepared for the cold! Last year at the marathon it was 29F at race start! Coldest I have run lately is 2 weeks ago we had a bit of a cold snap and I had 2 runs in the upper 50's, that's it. Today was about 80F when I ran, this isn't helping. I can't just go from summer burning pavement to sub freezing, need some acclimation... I was chilled on those 50 degree runs lol. Just hoping these warmer temps will hang around until next weekend, or at least stays above 40. (edited to add: my concern for the cold is due to running in bare feet without acclimation, the rest of me would be fine).

Just a solitary outing for me this week, 6.4km on a pleasant bright morning.
After a clear night the ground was quite cool, but overall a nice day for running.

Had some physio on my legs in the week -deep tissue massage basically (no injury -just 'maintenance' to keep things supple). Was surprising how tight my muscles had become since the last session, even though I've not been having any problems or twinges, etc... Must've done some good though -felt like a newly oiled machine this morning!;)...

I ran both Sat and Sun (5.1 and 7.3 miles) putting my week at 40.1 miles. Didn't seem like much of a taper but I held back several miles on the long run and a couple other shorter than usual runs. Now this week I take it easy, probably only a couple very easy 1-3 mile runs, then the Columbus Marathon Sunday.

Oh and just 37 miles on the bike this week.
