Hairy question

If you're up to try anything once I always suggests waxing. You're results will last longer, your hair will grow back thinner, and thus make subsequent removal easier and slightly less painful. I'd go the professional route first and see if your hair is the right type for hard wax or sugaring, both are less painful than a hot wax and strip as seen in 40 Year-Old Virgin. Depending on the gal waxing you ask if you should trim first.

Trimming is the more comfortable route versus shaving. Less chance for ingrowns and less prickly growth that could be uncomfortable if you decide to get snuggly with someone.

Bandaids help with chaffing if it's on your nips. Other areas, perhaps deodorant or bodyglide.

Thanks Makamaespm, got waxed today because most folks said don't! I wasn't aware of how much all the grey hair was playing with my psyche. Feel much better in myself for doing it, now all I need is some go fast stripes painted on my sleek new chest.:singing:

Another plus, I also had my 5 yearly health check today and the Nurse had to take my blood pressure three times as I was showing results in the high athletic range. She looked at me, looked at the results, looked at me, looked puzzled and repeated, wonderful! And even better when I told her it's because I run barefoot! I also seemed to have grown an inch in height, which means my posture is improving.

All in all I feel ten years younger. Mission successful I would say.:) I'm glad I was pro-active, you're never too old to learn new things about yourself. Thanks to everyone for chiming in.

Yeah, the old lazy hair syndrome- it does not want to make the effort to climb above your ears anymore, so settles in your back, chest etc!

More seriously, I have had 8 pilonidal cyst operations so have to keep my coccyx area hair free now. Veet works really easily. You could probably just veet a small area around the nipples and put on a plaster or any one of the many anti chafe creams available.

Helpfully, I have included the Amazon link for Veet for Men. Please read the customer reviews but make sure you are not in public when reading, they are some of the best reviews ever!

I've heard laser removal works well. You could always just man up and own it too. :bag:

Lol, the thing is I didn't want to own it and was happy enough to do something about it.

The term 'man up' really means to 'repress the feminine', I want no part of it!!!!
I love my feminine side, without it i'd just be a d!ck on legs. I do rock a long beard though that I display like a peacock whenever I have to strut my masculine stuff.

I think laser treatment might be a bit permanent for a whimsical soul like mine, i'll be onto something else next week and this will all be forgotten. Well everything but the deeper revelations that hide under the superficial.

What? No before-and-after pictures? Don't we at least deserve that much? Maybe after the stripes are added... :woot:

Can't believe I missed out on this thread earlier. Well sounds like you've already decided on a course of action so hope the results are good. I've found just letting things be is best for me, but I don't have the grey messing with my psyche (yet).

Visually, especially when running with sleeveless shirt, I've got quite a bit of armpit hair. I didn't like how this showed in race photos! I tried trimming just the pits before but it increased my chaffing considerably, and I hate having to lather up with products to mitigate chaffing (and even then still get a little). Seems like the hairs serve as lots of little needle bearings between the two opposing skins. So I stopped the shaving, but sometimes just trim back the outermost offenders that come out the front of the pits. Then in photos if the pits are still a bit to prominent I simply do some 'photoshop' magic and edit it back down to pg-13. Yep I actually edit out armpit hair in my own photos lol (TJ does have a habit of putting them all on the front page news for me! so got to try and represent well)

I wish more people (especially men) would be less afraid to talk about such things. Ignoring or making people (especially men) feel such issues should be taboo, only makes our society more ugly (and now I'm not talking about skin and hair - there are far less superficial ugliness out there).

Yes this forum in particular has shown this to me. When I read the one ultra race report where one guys friend is wiping his poopy and bleeding butt in his tent mid race, well, I guess there isn't anything that will bother me much after reading that one lol.

Or just go shirtless, most people will probably just think you're wearing an old sweater.
That was about as close as I had come to spitting out my coffee in a long time, thanks! :hilarious:
