So Amanda (my service provider from the last post) told me about Thomas Mitchell Park in Altoona and we're going to walk there on September 15th. She said I would love walking barefoot there because of the creeks there. So do you guys have any tips about walking barefoot in a creek? Also, I never got any pictures of Amanda's feet during our walk since she wasn't prepared for a barefoot walk last time, but this time maybe she will be.

Just be careful, experienced barefooter or not. Rocks can be slippery.

First suggestion: hiking stick. It'll help you keep your balance with the flowing water.

Second suggestion: if it is rocky (and they usually are) put your feet down slowly and don't transfer weight until you are sure of your new footing. Sometimes you end up with your foot getting squeezed between rocks.

Third suggestion: make sure the creek isn't somebody's trash bin. Glass is (almost) completely invisible in water. I've done plenty of creeks safely, but the danger level is higher than a trail where you can really see where you are stepping.

You mean like walk on your hands and feet in some areas?
Exactly! If there some areas, stones slippery. Then you need 3 points to be connected with ground - 2 hands, one leg; 2 legs, one hand. Moving such way, you will be safe.
Also move slowly.
If no stones, clifs, trees in water, stable banks - you can even run barefoot in creek, river.

So Amanda and I talked yesterday, and we made a plan for what we're doing for next Thursday for our creek walk. We're going to explore the different textures with our feet and @Barefoot TJ I will take your tips to mind! Amanda said she'd more than likely will be barefoot throughout the walk. But I'll remind her just in case.
