Really enjoyable 5.9km for me today on a beautiful warm morning.
Quite a few runners out today following a similar route (hello's from most of them -just not those running with headphones/earplugs in -human interaction in the morning isn't everybody's thing I guess..).

Wildlife all seemed fairly relaxed today, with the possible exception of the thousands of tiny 'midges' hovering around in the air! -They're inoffensive enough until one gets you in the eye...;)

Looking forward to getting out again at the weekend..

Fairly quiet in here the last couple weeks eh Tedlet? BTW I often run with wireless earbuds but use a loose fit (not that suction fit that tends to act like real noise reduction earplugs) and I use a modest enough volume that I can hear and talk to folks passing by. If I see someone approaching from the front I often even click the volume down if the phone is in my hand, just to prepare in case they say something. Most nod or wave or say hello at least. Some don't seem to acknowledge my presence at all.

As for me... Monday was a 1.5 mile walk at lunch time, was tired/sore from the 16 mile long run day before. Also took the bike out for a 14 mile ride after work.
Tuesday 2.5 mile walk at lunch time, then 4.3 mile easy run after work.
Wednesday starts my vacation, until I got back on Labor day [irony]. 11.5 mile ride to the park and back, 5.1 mile run while there.
Thursday (today) was wanting to do a modest speed workout, last one before the 18 mile race, but it ended up being to hot. Well it was the humidity that got me, mid 80's but 75% humidity, that's got to be almost a record. Dewpoint at 77F and feels like 97F. :dead: I was sweating like crazy just on the warmup mile. Ended up doing 8.1 miles total, the majority at 8 1/2 minute pace.

It is a little isn't it. -Hopefully just Summer vacation time for everyone..

That's interesting -I've not really thought about it from that perspective before.
I generally try and make a point of acknowledging/saying hello to other runners if I can. Headphones do sometimes make me think twice though on the basis that I have always assumed the person is either using them to relax & concentrate on their own form etc… (and therefore wouldn't particularly want to be distracted) , or they’re just trying to block the outside world out completely (which we all probably need to do from time to time) -in those cases I'll probably just smile (which is probably a pretty scary sight now I think about it!)...:)

I'm still going!
I have still been going out with Boulder (the rescue dog) he is recovering from his back wound nicely.
the past week we were getting his mileage and pace up but this week he went to the surgeon for his last assessment and to get altered.
Now we are back to short walks for a while.
I went out on my own for a nice 5 mile run yesterday. (1st solo run since we found Boulder)
Still sneaking in 25 to 30 miles per week.
September 17 is the Tour De Fleur 20k at white rock lake in Dallas I am signed up and ready for that one.:D

I'm visiting my stomping grounds in northern NY this week, and just doing short easy runs tapering back for the 18.12 Challenge next weekend. Though I may do a bit of a rough hike in the Adirondacks Tuesday, hope that doesn't mess up my legs for the race. Im actually a bit worried my right calf has been feeling a bit strained lately and hard to tell if its getting any better. Anyhow got an early morning 2 mile run in, same 2 again in evening, and a 10 mile ride in between. Yesterday was driving all day. Friday an easy 4 mile run. 29.6 miles total for the week running, 35 cycling.

Finished the week with a good 7km. Managed to find a dry interval between the rain spells we've been having.
Ran with my usual partner and managed to increase my pace a bit again, so pretty happy with that..:)

(Good luck next weekend Tristan)

I've been off, hence I failed to report my runs on a timely manner.
These are the numbers:
22-08-2016: 8.5 km @ 6:42 min/km
27-08-2016: 7.7 km @ 6:31 min/km
28-08-2016: 8.1 km @ 7:22 min/km

So this makes 24.3 km in total for week 34.

Cheers!
