6.6km for me today on a very drab, grey, wet morning.
Actually a nice temperature to run in and the dampness in the air was quite cooling. Most of the wildlife was fairly subdued though -generally just standing around looking a bit sorry for itself!
Legs, feet (+ toe) all good, so a good start to the day:)...

(off for a little trip to Mexico now, so not sure I'll have much to log for the next few days)

8.2 miles around the ponds on Monday, bf. Basic moderate run.

5.0 miles Wednesday (today, as I write) including 2 miles warm up, followed by 5 hill repeats and recoveries over another 2 miles, then 1 mile cool down. Was running with husband, who stayed with me on the warm up, recoveries, and cool down, but was way ahead of me on the hills. I briefly thought, "If I just tried harder, maybe..." but my legs had nothing else to give. At least I ran all the way. I kept my times pretty steady on the hill repeats, even against the stiff breeze.:)

Monday - rest day. Had a big weekend and then didn't get much sleep Sunday night, I never turn around from nightshifts back to dayshifts as easily as I go the other direction. Tuesday just a very easy 2 mile run after I got home from work, over 10 minute pace, but that is all I feel like doing after 2 days of sitting for about 14 hrs each. Not to mention it was almost 90F. Wednesday was even hotter after work, I think it was 90F that afternoon, just did a bike ride. When I was relieved, I checked google and both my downtown excape routes were red, with one of them indicating an accident. Yep, a bike ride should allow that mess to clear. Explored the furthest reaches of the trail downtown that goes right by my building. End for end and back was about 20 miles. Got back about 7:30pm to the garage, traffic was clear. :) Today I wanted to do some speed work, I haven't run fast in the last 2+ months. But I slept longer than I thought I would and it was already in the mid 80's by the time I went out. So just another usual moderate run, 7.5 miles. And a 15.5 mile ride later in the afternoon. I'm not going to be in great racing shape at my big one the end of the month if I can't ever get any speed workouts in. But the heat just kills all my ambition for speed.:dead:

My training schedule has been blasted to pieces.
For the longest times I would shoot for 3 to 4 days a week.
Now with boulder our new rescue I have been going out every day, some times 2 to 3 times a day.(all shorter run/walks)
Boulder is healing at a rapid pace. He is a younger dog with lots of energy.
2 miles Monday
3 runs total of 6 miles Tuesday
2 runs total of 4 miles Wednesday
3 runs total of 6 miles Thursday
2 runs total of 3 miles Friday
We are seeing lightning bugs and rabbits

Pretty soon, he will be ready for longer distances and you will have had a nice recovery period!

7.7 mile hot afternoon run yesterday, today went out in the afternoon for a ride, 23 miles with a few fast 1 mile intervals in there. 5 one-mile intervals at 20+ mph, I guess not super fast for a pro cyclist but pretty fast for me. Average speed for the whole ride including warmup/cooldown was 17.2mph, that is about as fast as I ever have done a 20+ mile ride. Maybe I'll have to start excluding my warmup & cooldown to make my numbers better. :p

8.6 mile run today, started out fully shaded by the clouds and feeling very nice compared to the hot runs lately, but not even to the turn around point and somehow all the clouds decided to vacate the sky leaving a bright sun beating down on me once again. Despite the heat I did feel good at the turn around point and did a few faster miles. My runs lately have been slow, mostly 9+ minute pace, 8:30 maybe the quickest. I did 3 miles today low to mid 7 minute range, and felt great. Average was at 8 minutes for the whole run though. In the past I used to run in the morning while it somewhat cool after getting off nightshift but I found it screwed up my sleep running so close to bedtime. So I've just dealt with the heat and run first thing in the 'morning' when I get up at 2pm.

No long run this week, was debating doing that today but didn't get up early enough to do before work, even 8.6 put me late for work a little bit. So a bit less mileage than lately, 26 miles for the week. 58 miles on the bike.

I may try for a long run tomorrow... looking at my calendar I'll likely only have 2 more real long runs (tomorrow plus one more) before the 18 mile race end of month.
