So last May during the Toms day without shoes I wanted to do it very quickly at work since I thought I would get in trouble. But my boss came by and I explained it was for a good cause and he was all for it. So every year then I'll be doing one day without shoes at work. What are your thoughts on being barefoot at work?

Always barefoot under my desk, but shoes come on when I get up to do anything. My shoes are tied so I can slip my feet into them. It has been noticed by at least one person, probably more, but nothing negative has been said to me about it and I haven't been called into the office to discuss my choice. Only down side is that when I do put my leather Vivobare Ra shoes on it is without socks. Jut takes too much time to put my socks on and then the shoes. What is Toms day?

The Toms One Day Without Shoes isn't well received by all here, and I can understand why.

Some of the best write-ups that enlighten us about the subject of TOMS true intentions are from Bob Neinast, a.k.a., Ahcuah. Bob is one of the best bloggers I know. He's intelligent, insightful, and articulate. He researches every subject he writes about, so it's not based on bias. Please feel free to follow his blog and subscribe (http://ahcuah.com/ and https://ahcuah.wordpress.com/). I know you will like these. Here are the articles I found on his site about TOMS. In fact, I need to go back and read some of these myself.

I work a rotating shift, we are 24x7x365 always staffed and the rotation is set up so everyone shares the pain equally (no one gets more days or holidays or weekends etc). On Mon-Fri dayshifts I wear SoftStar Dash shoes I have an all black leather pair and an all smooth chocolate leather pair. They are fantastic for shoes that can do everything from trail running to pass for business casual. Even still I kick em off once at my desk, just leaving on thin socks. On nightshifts, and all weekend, I am pretty much 100% barefoot at the office.

I see your website of choice! Ha! Not lost on me.

What are you monitoring on those screens?

@paraganek did the same in his shot too ;)

That particular desk controls all of our hydro units - we have about a dozen dams and many dozen generators we control on about 5 different river systems, and your only seeing half of the desk there, it has 3 computers running 18 screens. We also dispatch coal/gas/nuke/wind/solar plants on other desks too.

Sardines, Daniel! I must have looked at yours through my phone and didn't notice it as well as I did Tristan's on my bigger screen.

Flattered all around. :barefoot::happy:
