5 mile run at 5:00 am Tuesday.
I saw lots of lightning bugs and lots of rabbits.
It was warm and humid out.

5 mile run this afternoon, slow pace, still recovering... not from the 10k last weekend but mainly from my bike ride yesterday. Did my first 100 mile ride. And I did it fully loaded for touring (bike probably weighed 50-60 lbs loaded). I wanted to get a good test of the racks and panniers and make sure everything was adjusted right and working well. I've got a potential 4-5 day trip coming up and don't want any surprises. Well there was a couple surprises but nothing that prevented me from finishing. Felt great for most of it, fatigue didn't really hit till the last 25 miles and even then it wasn't a big deal. Stopped lots at various 'attractions'... water falls, gardens, restored trains, neat bridges, etc. Unfortunately the one snag I had, might also take me out for my upcoming trip. My saddle has a defect - it appears to be slightly crooked. My right cheek was a little grump about that. And I'm not sure if I want to embark on a 300+ mile journey on a new and untested saddle. Still debating. Backup plan: head to the mountains and get some hiking in.

Very pleasant 5.3km for me yesterday morning.
Back out with my shod running partner (clip clop, clip clop... -people definitely hear us approaching more easily than when it's just me!).
Nice and dry & a good temperature for running right now, although there does seem to be an abundance of goose poo around at the moment too! Nevertheless an enjoyable start to the day.

Hoping to get out again later in the week if I can:)...

So the week went to plan for a change & I managed to get out for another 5.9km at the weekend.
Nice easy pace and everything feeling good. Lots of wildlife around going about their daily routine. The adult geese seemed slightly more oblivious to me running past today. They're either getting used to me or are just more relaxed now the brood of goslings are growing up!:)..

This week was more of a cycling week for me, with the 100 miler on Tuesday then a short ride every day totaling 151 miles.
I did run Wed, Thur, Fri, Sun, totaling 20 miles, all of them were modest run over 9min/mi. Never got a long run in, but will try this week. I have a nicer work schedule for a change, just 3 day training week, normalish 9hr days, at our alternate location that happens to sit right on a paved bike/ multi path.

It can make me a little crazy to run by a noisy shod runner. My husband is light on his feet, so not a problem there, but at races or other group runs, I have to make a concerted effort to put it out of my mind!

I know what you mean HSB -I do find myself having to concentrate a bit harder than normal on my own rhythm (the subliminal pounding obviously messes with my mind!). We both run a similar pace though and it's nice to have company -you're lucky your husband clearly has good running form...:barefoot:
