Hello everyone out there,
Started barefoot running just a few weeks ago, it feels so good, the problem currently is trying not to do too much too soon. That is 5k, weekly 1x or 2x, beside shod running.
I'm 44, and had some knee pain last year. The doctor suggested not to run, or to limit running to the minimum, and in a well padded shoe. It took me some time to come to a different conclusion, and focus on good running form first in natural shoes, but then trying barefoot was a real euphoric experience. It was effortless, light, energizing, and faster than running in shoes, I was shocked.
For my biggest surprise hard surface feels better to run on than soft ones. So I keep experimenting and learning. This website helps me a lot.
Did not find an IBRD 2016 event in Hungary, therefore joined the BF community in Slovenia last Sunday, despite the rain they organized a superb event, I ran 5k, enjoyed it very much. It was great to meet so many people sharing the same passion. I hope to find fellow barefooters in my area, or even infect others and spread the passion.

As a 53 year old who took up running less than two years ago, I can only say I wish I was where you are now. Thank you for joining. Keep it up. Welcome.
