Making minimalist shoes

After my second summer in Xeroshoes, I spend the winter catering in Vivobarefoot shoes to compensate for the cold/etc

In Vivobarefoot shoes I got such heel problems (probably from heel striking) and my toes were so squished together I cannot put my toes into my Vibrams anymore.

Now start of Spring I'm back in Xero's with 5 finger toe socks...and I can immediately feel the difference in my body and have also switched to a standing desk. #brilliant

In preparation for next winter I would like to make my own shoes... any ideas? will probably be mochasins.

Any experience out there? please chat to me :)

Bundschuhe (I don't know the English word for these) are very easy to make yourself, I did that as a teenager, with no patience or skills at all. They look a little bit funny, but they work quite well, and were quite popular among commoners in medieval Europe, so probably they are suitable for winter use (I never tried that). In effect, an easy to make mocassin pattern. There are many DIY instructions on the net for these.
