Have I made a discovery?

Here's a thing ...

Last weekend, I found that the rings on my fingers were getting very loose, due to my success at losing weight, and I decided to take them off.

Out of interest, I tried one on my right second toe, and it seemed to fit quite well.

So, I've been wearing it the last few days, and I've noticed that because I can feel it between my toes, it is a constant reminder to spread my toes and not grip the ground or soles of my sandals, which has been a persistent habit of mine.

I wore it to the gym tonight and found it really hurt on the spin cycle when I didn't spread on my toes. I also noticed on the treadmill that I was spreading and lifting my toes more than normal and landing on a much more stabilised foot!

Have I found something here?

I just ordered a proper toe ring on eBay. One which can be adjusted, so it will hopefully fit more snugly than a continuous ring, and I intend doing some more experimentation on this.

Has anyone else noticed this, or would like to give it a try and see if they notice the same?

I feel a new barefoot running aid product line coming on ;)

Here is barefoot running aid Mark II. A much snugger fit (and much less discomfort Sid)

Trying it out on my fourth toe to encourage my wayward pinky to straighten up :)

Second marriage ex-wife and I decided on tungsten for wedding rings. Almost weight of gold, looked great and super durable -- and $17 each from Amazon! Now sizing for the little piggies. Great stuff -- thanks Paul!

The ring was just too much discomfort for my little toe. I've gone back to the middle toe (both feet now.) I have no discomfort at all now. They are just a presence that remind me not to grip with my toes.

I like them. I need to buy a job lot now to sell on IBRD :)
