A lacklustre start to the week, due to exhaustion yesterday, capped off with a 4.5 mile, min-shod, trot home this evening in a steady rain at about 7C. I'll have to get a few more dry, barefoot miles in before I can run in that after this winter.
It's supposed to be dry and warmer tomorrow :)

Matched your 4.5 miles yesterday and added another 2.5 miles today though the weather was clear and mild in Oakland on both mornings. Yesterday's run started at 6:40 am so it was dark for a while before sunrise. I was not going to run today since I was going out of town but decided to take a quick jaunt after taking out the garbage for collection.

Exhaustion? from what! are you turning into a whimp on your old age?;)

Way to push through.

I didn't run run yesterday-forgot my clothes but ran 6.5 miles Monday and 12 miles the day before.

I must be! Perhaps it's something to do with my middle name being Wuss! :p

Well that explains everything:)

And if you must know Sid and skedaddle, the thruth is that I ALMOST go running seminaked, if it weren't for cold air I am sure my husband would have to come and bailed me out(for public exposure).
The thing is that I got "dressed" for my run but lukily I felt a draft on my "region" and thought what? I looked at my legs and i didn't have my shorts, I have forgot them. I know TMI but you asked for it.
Back to business.
Yesterday 6.3 miles run
Today 30 mins of stairs and 10 mins of backwards running.

And if you must know Sid and skedaddle
Well, no, I stopped short of saying anything. Although, Skeddadle is a sly ol' salty dog!

Since we're sharing stories, I did have an unfortunately incident during my beginner swim lesson a few years ago, where my shorts became untied and slipped right off! I somehow managed to wrestle them back on, paddle to the end, tie them and continue on. I don't _think_ that anyone noticed. At least no one said anything! :D

Such a colorful crew!

I got home last night and went on a 2.15 mile, midnight bf run. I suppose I could have run au naturel but living in the city I might get arrested. Part of the run was in the street since there weren't many cars but also to stay in lit areas - I do live in a city.

This morning a added a short 1 mile to go to the gym and walked home afterwards.

5 miles yesterday at the end of my run I walked into my back yard and spotted a screech owl (probably hunting my backyard)(very cool)
5 miles today spotted lots of rabbits.
mid 50's and 60's and overcast slightly humid.

I sometimes ponder running with absolutely nothing on but stop the thought when I think about getting arrested or scaring the crap out of someone.

4 attempts at a sub 11 minute mile on the treadmill this week. 11:01 was nearest. Two weeks to go
.

Well with the winter mostly retreating now, I've put in some miles. Over the last 8 days, I've run nearly 64 miles and after today's run, for the first time ever I've got a 7 day stretch of running of more than 60 miles. I had a good 13.64 mile long run yesterday, pretty much easy pace and nice consistent mile times. With the improved conditions on the roads, I've also shed the Xeros a couple of times and doing some real barefoot running again. It had been more than 2 months since I'd run barefoot and wow it felt amazing on Thursday when I got to remember how good it can feel to see the road with the soles of the feet.

Messed around yesterday taking some video so I can look at my gait. Overall it's looking pretty good I think, although as I already knew some, every now and then my left leg doesn't really bend enough on the descent to landing and I will put the heel down slightly before rolling on to the midfoot and then really letting the weight come to bear. So as far as a heelstrike goes, it's not killer, but hopefully with more time and practice, it'll disappear. I did snag a kind of cool screen capture from the last bit of video --

Then I also spliced together a video of me running at various speeds and from 2 different perspectives --

Pleasant 4.6km for me this morning (so total of 8.3k for the week).
Some early morning geese for company by the lake where I start from. Apart from that, ran passed the usual dog walking lady and an elderly gent out for a bright and early stroll -both said hello..
The fresh and dry conditions seemed to make it easier I think -or maybe I'm just starting to get the hang of it!

Joined the Lake Merritt Bare Foot loop on Saturday and completed about 2.8 miles. Three of us had a leisurely time enjoying some beautiful jogging weather.

Before and after the run, I walked over 4.0 bf miles to/from the gym, shopped at the farmers market picking up oranges and veggies, and the local spice shop where I purchased some chili sauce.
