Barefoot beach running - video

Hey how are you setting up the camera? I noticed in one of the other videos you had another person on a bike filming you. Do you have another person for most of this or do you mount the camera in various locations and do it solo?

Well done vid....but even better is the foot strike :)

You are landing with a nearly perfect barefoot foot strike pattern...mid foot, and rolling from the outside of the foot inward.

Really good.

I did this shooting solo.
I keep the setup very simple. For the moving shots I just clip my GoPro camera on a stick and run holding it in one hand. The footage is far from being stable but when slowed down it is view-able. For the static shots I just mount the camera and run back and forth.

Thank's Steve. That is encouraging to hear.

Does your tide never come in!!!!
I watched the time laps shots and it seemed like you had a tide that stays in a constant position.
Neil

Neil, I think it comes in eventually. My time lapse shots are probably too short to see it coming. I only shot about 3 hour long footage for the time lapse at the end of the video.

Me, too! Love it! What was the air temp? You had on gloves but it didn't look too bad.. Water temp? I've never been to Oregon, but I have a mental image of the water running pretty damn cold.

Air temp was 41 F. Water temp was 51 F.
Perfect conditions for barefoot running.
I put the gloves on because the water was sucking the heat out of my feet and I needed to conserve it in my upper body as much as I could.

Ah. So. I thought the water would be colder, but I guess 51F is quite cold enough. If I ran into water that cold as deep as my ankles I'd probably choke on my huevos.
