David, it was a video of him running down a gravely/dustry trail, right?

I just have to add with a blushing smile :shy: ... That's the same advice I give to everyone else. Maybe once my problems go away, I'll be able to get back where I was before.

30 minute bf run on the beach

30 minute bf run on the beach yesterday morning, in the soft sand. That's a workout! Must be a good foot strengthener. My calves are a little sore today.

17 total, all bare. I've hit a serious low when it comes to motivation. Don't know why, it may be that it's getting colder, we had frost this morning and temps well below freezing hen I got up, or it may be something else entirely.

 Hi there, w/e 26 Sept

Hi there,

w/e 26 Sept 2010

I only managed to do:

Tuesday: 12km sandal run

Saturday: no run but I was barefoot the whole day. Stepped on a nail while clearing out the back yard. Luckily it's not a deep wound so I'm OK; I can't even feel anything anymore. I really hope to get some runs in this week.

On running uphill/downhill:

When I run, I always try to picture myself running in water/a pool. (For me) this works very well for running uphill and downhill. When running uphill, I run with an erect upper body (leaning into the stream), pumping arms and pushing off hard. This is maybe why I enjoy running uphill so much. Running downhill, I go with the flow leaning slightly forward (as if the stream is pushing me from behind). This helps me to either land on my forefoot or whole foot with no heel strike. And yes, you go a bit faster as well ;).

Have a great week!

ouch Ghaleed! I'm not sure

ouch Ghaleed!

I'm not sure what my technique for running down hill is, I think it depends on the hill..steeper, short/long etc make a difference in what I'm doing.

sunday I had a very interesting run, ran through a stretch of bike path through the forest that had actually been taped off with caution tape (due to recent flooding). I went through anyway and founds LOTS of mud, sand drifts and ponds along the trail, fallen trees that needed hurling over, and near the end of that stretch a good 20ft stretch of the bike path was washed away, leaving a crator with the river running underneath about 6 ft deep. Resembled this www.google.com/imgres )

I had to tip toe to along the bank to get to the other side of the bike path. Definitely an adventure run. 6.5mi all together, then taught 1hr of belly dance and .5hr ab/core work after the run.

monday 1hr belly dance

today 2hrs zumba and .5hr core/ab work

On downhills increase your cadence and shorten your stride even more than normal. When I start downhill it still feels kind of strange, but it works. I would have sworn there was a video of BFKB demonstrating this, but I cant't find it.

Yeah, what DavidP said. It just seems natural to me to shorten stride when running down hill and here's the video you are talking about:

Off to a "great" start this

Off to a "great" start this week. While my legs won't really cooperate due to some serious tightness I've already run twice, Monday 3 mi and Tuesday 8 mi, all according to my master plan. Next up is a rolling pin session to loosen up my legs. Hopefully tomorrow's run will feel a lot better.

I'm hoping this is a good

I'm hoping this is a good week despite my sprained toe - lots of miles because I am very restless. I am working 5 normal days instead of 4 ten hour days which means I have more time for running after work. Nine tonight! On a Tuesday! Love it!

Did my second 30 minute

Did my second 30 minute barefoot run this week this morning. It felt great! I'm running real slow so i cover about 2 miles in 30 minutes. My feet feel fine.

8.13 on a Tuesday-  need

8.13 on a Tuesday- need those midweek longer runs for my training. This one felt speedy (lost my watch so I can't be superaccurate). But it seems I am running a minute and 20 seconds faster per mile on longer runs than I was a couple weeks ago. Something is coming together for me...

Awesome to hear Schwab! Nice

Awesome to hear Schwab! Nice mileage coming from your reports too! It's fun to see your progress:)

At least your boo-boos are healing, right J.?

Ha, they would be if I had

Ha, they would be if I had not stubbed my toe at the end of last night's run. The shoulder is much better (was able to do alot with it today) but the toe is still black and blue a week out. My newest is the calf strain - I spent some cool cash on a new foam roller and Zensah sleeves.

Wow.  You stubbed the SAME

I'm so jealous! Not of your toe J., but of Adam's early morning, rain run. ;-)
