Not sure if you know who Micheal Sandler is but he is a big contributor to the barefoot running movement. He was involved in really bad accident and this was from his facebook page. I wish him well. If you know his history, he went through something like this years ago, which lead him to barefoot running.

"Three and ½ weeks ago I was involved in a life-threatening “accident” which nearly took my life. It took multiple blood transfusions, the help of some incredible people and multiple emergency crews to keep me alive, and without the love, help, support, and cool-headedness of my wife I wouldn’t still be here.

The accident left me with a matching titanium femur and titanium pin through my hip on my right leg to the ones I got on the left leg from a near-death accident I had seven years ago. Doctors told me the first “accident” was a one in a million, and to have it happen twice, with identical results, is perhaps one in infinity. It’s mind-blowing. There are no odds. But it means I know how to recover ))) And, I’ll now be balanced. Let’s hear it for symmetry.

It’ll still be a challenging road to recovery, but I’ll be 100% again, running, hiking and dancing with Nature. In the meanwhile, thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We believe everything in life happens for a reason, and that this HAS to be a gift. It will surely be a life-changer, forcing us to step back and look carefully at every aspect of our lives. And so, I’ve begun heavy meditation in earnest.

We’ll lay low for a little while, meditate, listen, and heal. The last accident helped carry us down a very special path, and we believe this one will do nothing less. What that path looks like, we have no idea, in a sense we’re an empty slate, a beautiful place to be. So for now, I’ll just be putting one leg (so to speak) in front of the other. I wish everyone a beautiful day, and an amazing week.

With love and blessings,

Michael"

This would mean their upcoming tour has been cancelled, which goes without saying. Best to Michael.

Michael,
You are one in a million. I am in graditude to you and your life vision, your patience, kindness and humility and infectious love for life is a blessing for the rest of us. My God bless you and Jessica in your recovery with great speed may God's grace heal and strenghten your mind, heart and spirit. I send you prayers and blessing to you and Jessica, and all who will support you in this recovery. Lifes greatest battels are those fought with out the runners bib. They are with in our own minds and spirit. We just put on a runners bib some times to test our limits and fears. Much love, thunder and blessings to live a more meaningfull life for all of us. Thanks for being a good friend - Rick from U.T.

Hi Everyone!

Thank you so much for the well wishes. After the accident we both wanted to lay low for a while, as the first couple of months after the accident were draining for the both of us. I'm happy to report, Michael is making leaps and bounds in his progress (though he's not leaping and bounding quite yet). He's still on crutches, but he's able to cycle on an indoor trainer, swim with a pull buoy between his legs, and work on leg raises in bed. He's even able to sit upright with both legs on the floor, though his injured leg still gets swollen if you sits for too long. He's a trooper for sure and of course knows how to listen to his body and build back stronger than ever. Your thoughts and prayers mean A LOT to us, for we definitely know the power of thoughts, words and good intentions. :)

With love & blessings,
Jessica

PS: We have started a fundraising campaign on indiegogo to help with some of the medical bills and with the production of our next book, "Breathe Love." It includes a video explaining how the accident happened and our new perspective on life. You can check it out here: www.tinyurl.com/breathelove
