Hi docs,

I have a blister which is plaguing me:

It doesn't hurt at all. The initial injury was as the result of a speed run over bad terrain and I let it heal about a week or so. It has been OK for about a week of running now, but this morning after just 7km at slow pace it filled with serum and I had to stop. The skin is thick and so it has pushed up the side of my foot as hopefully you can see. That part is a bit sore, but the rest is pain free.

It seems like the expanse of skin is tough and is causeing the blister to grow at the edges or something like that. I have washed it, cut the side with nail clippers that rides up my foot to vent the serum and squished it about in warm water and antiseptic liquid.

How should I deal with this? It almost seems like the skin needs to go, or it will keep tearing at the edges even after healing. Do you think running inn VFFs would nbe OK? I really don't want to sit on the bench for this thing :(.

Thanks :)
