Minimalist Outdoor Sandals GIVEAWAY!

Earth Runners- minimalist outdoor sandals

We are offering an exclusive giveaway to the Barefoot Runners Society to spread awareness of our approaching new barefoot technology release on Kickstarter.com. On my run this morning I thought there couldn’t be a better place to offer a giveaway for our sandals than the barefoot lovers of this forum.

Our new sandals feature a custom molded high performance zero drop footbed with our original grounded conductive laces. Our goal is to replicate the experience of going barefoot both physically and electrically. We are offering two different models with different tread thicknesses.

  • Our Alpha's are made of a 10mm Birkenstock tread great for longer distances.
  • Our Circadian's are made of 6mm Vibram tread which offer the closest thing to going barefoot.
  • Both models come with the option of leather bedding.
  • Both models come with the option of grounded conductive laces or nylon laces.
We are passionate about promoting a more barefoot experience and we would love to hear how bare-footing has positively effected your life. Whether you go barefoot for just short hikes, when camping or for full marathons-we would love to hear about it. We are looking for someone who expresses an authentic passion for being barefoot and would really appreciate our new minimalist outdoor sandals.

Any help in spreading the word of our sandals or Kickstarter project would be greatly appreciated

The giveaway will end on Saturday May 11th. Please share any questions you may have.

To Enter: Please share a simple explanation of how barefooting has positively effected your life.

Cheers!

In the future, Michael, please PM me to coordinate giveaways. Thanks! And they do look comfy, BTW.

Barefooting has helped me with my bad knees - one surgery, other one almost went under the knife too. Once I made the transition, my chronic knee pain melted away because my running form changed. I also find that I am in a better mood and more relaxed when I go for a barefoot walk or run. Hope this counts as a good entry!! These look really cool and I'd love to try a pair! :)

Barefoot running connects me to the earth and the earth to me.
As our energy is only borrowed from nature, it allows me to be in tune with that from which I came and that which I am destined.

Make that your signature, Zetti.

The Barefooted mind set seems to have came easily to me. I have only been running for a short time (just over a year), but decided to run barefoot very shortly after starting. I have entirely embraced being barefoot as much as I can, I run entirely in bare feet, I hike in bare feet and spend most of the rest of my time in Huaraches. I even have Vivo's that I use for work.
As a consequence of ditching shoes the pace of my life has changed, I feel I have more time for the world around me and I am in less of a rush to get where I'm going or finish what I'm doing. I even smile a little more.

Years of running in "advanced" shoes did nothing but make my knees ache and give me lower back pain. Consequently I gave up on running, and got lazy. My weight increased, I lost muscle mass and tone, my blood pressure went up and I started taking meds to control it and my cholesterol. Then I read about a year ago how running barefoot would allow my feet to act the way they were designed, reducing the stresses on my joints, and thus reducing injury. I decided to give it a shot, first on the indoor track at the local YMCA, then outside. After about a month I noticed that I was losing weight, and my joints didn't hurt. Another thing I noticed was that I could run for longer distances than I could in shoes. Sure, I had the usual symptoms of blisters, and sore feet at first, but now that I am used to it I cannot think of running any other way. Sure, I do wear minimalist shoes from time to time, mostly VivoBarefoot EVOs, when the conditions require it, but mostly I am barefoot. Over the last year I have dropped over 50lbs, I am now running 5 miles daily in the low 40 minute range, and most important I have my health back, I am no longer on blood pressure or cholesterol meds. I feel highly optimistic about my future, all because I began running barefoot.

@ Big Joe & NickW: Thank for sharing, I can relate with two medial meniscus surgeries on my left knew. Being barefoot has allowed me to run again without me knee swelling up to the size of a grapefruit. Cheers!

@ Zetti: I love it! If you dont mind I would like to paraphrase what you said and use it for a post on our Facebook page.

@Smogz: Running barefoot/minimalist is way more fun! In stead of zoning out and heel striking to the beat of my ipod, I have learned to reconnect with the trail. The increased engagement with the trail has not only proven to be very beneficial to my physical health but also seems to have improved my mental health and the therapeutic value of running or walking. Have you experimented with sleeping grounded?

@Jonathan Wilkinson: I couldn't agree more! Trails seem brand new when going bare. And like you said, being barefoot is more of a lifestyle than just a practice.

@Inakilt: Inspiring story thanks for sharing! "Allow my feet to act the way they were designed," I couldn't have said any better myself.
