Hi all, I have been doing the c25k program for a while now. Been walking/jogging with my vff sprints for about 2 years.
I got a new komodosport Ls, they feel firmer than my sprints & I think causing me Shin pain while jogging.
Any input on this?
Thanks...

Do you think you could be slamming your feet into the ground?

I agree w/TJ. I believe the Komosports have a thicker sole than the Sprints. Thus, your ground feel is reduced, perhaps causing you to strike the ground harder than you are used to.

I've been running with my Komodo sports, having some shin pain, but I finally got in some barefoot running last week. As soon as I took the VFF's off, I noticed my heel was hitting the ground harder than usual. Didn't notice while I was running with the shoes, so it sounds like a reasonable theory.

shin pain like shin splints? usually means over striding and heel striking. if you can get someone to record you run do it and check it out. even people who run bf can heel strike and with the thicker shoes it's even easier.

You can remove insole from komodosports to make it as thin as sprints. I also relaced them so that they don't squeeze the front part narrower - cut the lace at middle so you can keep velcro and use only two pairs of shoelace holes near to ankle. That modification probably makes it like non-ls version though. Or maybe a bit looser at the ball of foot.
