I'm a "barefeet runner"
By Barefootn

I mean really, how many people run with one shoe off??
I run with barefeet. I'm a barefeet runner!:barefoot:
What is one half of a barefeet runner?
Answer, a barefoot runner.
No, wearing socks on feet is not barefeet.
No, wearing huraches is not barefeet running.
Nope also to finger shoes.
When I wear minimal shoes I run shod.

I feel most things in life are not black and white (though it is convenient to think that way). The same thing applies to running. I am glad that there are minimalist runners, who have chosen to move towards a more natural and (if patient, hopefully) a less injury prone way of running. Some of these runners might choose to run barefoot (one day or on some days) or they might never make that transition. We are all (a spectrum of) runners, those who run with regular or minimalist shoes or none. I feel it is better to be inclusive (and stay connected) than be exclusive (and isolated). Peace :)

Due to the use of the phrase "barefoot running" when people are wearing some form of foot wear, some individuals have coined the term "naked foot running" to differentiate between the two types. Your either barefoot or your not.

This really wasn't about whether or not someone was shod or bare while running; it was more about running on one foot or two...as in barefeet versus barefoot. Just a little humor by the author.

Last year our local car dealership hosted a marathon sales event. I didn't see any runners,o_O but all the sales people were there. They had free food and a country western band. I concede that the running world has lost the exclusive use of the term "marathon"
The shoe companies seem are trying to profit with the term "barefoot".
I think barefeet or bare feet describes how I run. :barefoot:

While the author may not have intended a discussion on what it means to barefoot, it sure seems to be important to people. I'm sorry for throwing people off the author's topic.

No need for apologies, Mr. Rich. All is good here. Besides, we love conversation around here, on-topic or off-topic. :barefoot:

I think we should dispense with all this whittering about shoes or skin or whatever and just settle on "natural form" vs "unatural form" running. Isn't that nice and clear and uncontroversial?
