Would you enjoy running if it wasn't for barefoot running?

I just cannot run with shoes on. It's very uncomfortable and makes me unbalanced. I'm a natural toe-walker so I tend to run on my toes throughout the majority of my runs. When I wear shoes it throws off my balance and I tweak my ankle or trip on the tip of the shoe. I also enjoy the different textures I get on my feet as I run barefoot, especially in the mud.

I have always liked running but never got into it properly because I always had problems with knee injuries. I never got being 10k and eventually gave up on it.

Then I discovered barefoot running and have not looked back. 3 years of regular running with no knee problems at all. Last week I did a 20 mile run for the first time. I wrote vivo shoes because it was on trails but I couldn't have done it without being a barefoot runner.

I do enjoy running in minimalist footwear swell but nothing beats feeling the ground under your feet and getting that unsurpressable barefoot grin.

I love the feel of running bare feet, and the fact that none of the aches and pains I experienced from 12 years of shod running have come back! Although there have been some new aches and pains, I find that I am now more in tune with my body and am able to tweak my form/style to eliminate it, or email my coach Tina, and she sorts me out! Come winter here in Alberta, it just gets too cold for me to venture outdoors bare feet, having experienced frostbite on my toes in the past. I have to resort to mini shoes, but I still enjoy it very much! Running bare feet has brought a whole new, amazing breath of fresh air to what used to be considered a necessary evil! I try to run every other day, and really stress about it if by some reason I have to skip a day.
