Xero Shoes will be on ABC's Shark Tank on February 1!

I just read through this thread on my phone and know nothing about the show. Let me check if I'm understanding it correctly.

A group of bottom-feeding investment bankers interview, humiliate and rip-off enthusiastic and possibly naive small business people? For entertainment?

Interesting. Very interesting :p
You pretty much hit it on the head. I personally don't like the show although my wife does. She is of the view that these people need help to get to the next level, and while I may agree that they need help I don't necessarily think this is the way they should get to it.

In reality though, they are just a piece of rubber with a string. Maybe they can patent their design, but there are going to be so many knock-offs available with a limited market, it would be hard to convince an investor to valuate the company as high as they did.

The show was good though, they did a good job presenting their product.

I personally like the show, The "Sharks" have really helped a lot of small businesses take off and get really profitable. Though they do sometimes pick the people a part, these people are asking for a lot of money; they should be able to prove they will be profitible for the investor. that's what they are, investor's; there has to be proof of monitary return.

Oh I understand what you're saying Ram, but these "sharks" are no dummies and they try to get as much for as little as they possibly can, at times taking advantage of the people looking for the investor.

Steven said they shot about 60 minutes of footage but only used 8, so we don't know what all was said on either side.

Hey, everyone... this is my first moment of downtime since the show aired 8 days ago.

Thanks SO much for your support.

To answer the question about sales: Last week was equal to about 2 good Summer months! I think I had 15 hours of sleep the whole week.

Regarding rubber and string, someone on Twitter said it best: Isn't FUBU (Daymonds's clothing line) just cotton and ink? ;-)

Competition is not a bad thing. Rumor has it there is more than one shoe company on the planet. ;-)

Okay, enough smiley emoticons.

Let's see, what else. Oh, what's fascinating to me is that, from our perspective, there was no real offer on the table. There was no way we'd say yes to a 50% offer, especially one that valued the company at less than 1x annual sales.

But some people in the Web-world were AGHAST that we walked away from someone willing to give us $400,000.

We never saw it that way. We saw it as walking away from an unacceptable offer... simple.

Anyway, I'm still pretty swamped... launching the new site at xeroshoes.com, there's a LOT of work left to do. So, thanks again. I'm glad we were able to tell even a short story about why natural movement is the way to go!

Thanks for the link, TJ.

Getting off an elevator at a hospital the other day, wearing my Luna's, a lady asked if they were the sandals from Shark Tank.
